I probably need to do a tune-up on my 850. I've done lawnmowers, tillers, and such - but never a tractor or a vehicle tune-up. Btw, I saw Adam at Hometown Acres working on your sign. (oops, I hope it wasn't supposed to be a surprise!)

I was surprised how much more powerful the 641 feels with the tune up! Getting the timing right was probably the biggest impact. But even the new spark plugs properly gapped made a difference. It was awesome seeing Adam @Hometownacres making the sign for us! And it was great to support another local KZread channel. :)

I love that wood toter. One tip...find a pair of stabilizer bars to keep your wood rack from flopping from side to side

Stabilizers are on my wish list for this Christmas. I used to have the adjustable ones for my old Ford 9N/2N tractor. I sold those at a garage sale but wish I still had them!

I have an 8n. I couldn’t get the tractor to idle to 400 rpm. The carb shaft was worn as well as the carb body where the shaft fits. This was allowing unmetered, as well as dirty, air into the carburetor making idle tuning near impossible. I tried to re-bush the carb with a shaft kit. I buggered up the carb body and ended up buying a carb from Dennis Carpenter. Out of the box it ran perfect! That is rare as they usually need a little tweaking even when new. The idle is below 400 rpm now. I did not like replacing the original carb as my tractor is 100% stock but it was a quick solution. I will search for an original carb in the near future and simply rebuild (and re-bush) if needed. Also, what part of town are you? I am in Maryland and the woods and weather look about the same. Great channel!

Good Day Sir, We all are in the learning curve and Next time you will be able to that tune up all by yourself. Next step you should look how much that mechanical fuel pump is giving at full RPM but it could be your sediment bowl too. Keep Up Your OUTSTANDING videos Sir Cheers 👍👌😇🍻

You're right, Dave! Had I known it needed the tune up- I think I could have figured it out. All except maybe adjusting the timing. Good idea to check the fuel pump. I want to set a GoPro up and record the fuel going into the sediment bowl under a load - so that I can see if it's starving for fuel after the governor opens up.

@@PurpleCollarLife That is a very good idea, you can also look into your air bowl ( fill with oil ) if the oil is clean but at full rpm the exhaust will go dark if you had an obstruction in the air filter,, So I do think it is sediment bowl ,,, Cheers !!!

Glad to see you got the old boy up and running smoothly. As for the pine trees? Chances are you can thank a squirrel. I have watched them take pine cones here and carry them off to eat or store. They prefer the green ones but will take the brown ones as well. If, I had a $1 for every walnut they bury and sprouts in the spring, I could buy a new chainsaw. Great tour of the property. You are very fortunate.

You're probably right about the squirrels being the cause of the pine tree transplants. :) We have an amazing amount of squirrels around. I enjoy watching them find ways to get to our bird feeders regardless of whatever "squirrel proofing" I try to do. They're amazing acrobats and seem to be really intelligent when it comes to foraging food. We do love our land. I can't imagine living without the wide open (and forested) space we have.

The places I ordered my parts for my Ford tractors, including my 640, is Just8Ns, Dennis Carpenter, and Yesterday's tractors. I have ordered from Steiners before, but with my Fords I usually order from those 3 places that I mentioned.

I'd guess either no fuel or no spark. did you take a spark plug out and see if it sparks while it's turning over? Did you check to make sure there's gas getting into the carburetor?
