Doing this for the first time by myself of our 2015 F350. Halfway done, need to connect the rusted out front panel and the front of the floor panel 😬 Should be done next weekend

Nice, good luck! That part of the bed is tedious.

Nice job . My 2000 F250 that I bought in 1999 the springs broke in the back and I replaced them a couple days ago but my rails are completely shot . I’ll be doing the rails before winter. I’m wishing I pulled the bed off first to make spring install easier. I liked your engine puller to lift the box . Did you have to add a bar to your lift to reach center of box ? Or did you make the lift work with original extension ?

The lift worked on shorts beds fine but I added a 1/8” tube extension for long beds. I’m doing this on gravel so I added weight since the surface is u even. I been doing it this way for about 8 years.

In the northeast it is not worth it because they rot over the wheel wells too as you all know. I built a dump bed instead.

I prolonged mine by soaking rust proofing up on top of the inner wheel housing.

@@FullRange4x4 They rot over the wheel wells because the manufacturers put foam in between the pinch welds.

You are correct. I was able to dig some of that out on mine and soak it with rustproof.

Question….from the southeast here but my truck goes on the beach a lot. Noticed 2 holes in my bed and two bed crossmembers eaten up pretty bad. Is it easier to just replace the whole bottom bed floor? or to do the crossmembers and patch the wholes and keep the original floor like in this video?

Depends on the condition of the inner bedside/wheel well areas and really the overall finish and look of the bed floor. I think doing a whole floor assembly is easier. If the rest of the bed pinch weld points are in good shape then that’s the ticket. It will cost more but that’s where the time and effort will come into play.

@@FullRange4x4 Thank you for the response and the video. I definitely see what you’re talking where it depends on the condition of the bed. The bed floor of my truck is similar or better than the one you did the crossmember fix on. I also wouldn’t have to fix all the crossmembers. Just the two in the center need to be replaced and the two holes are between them. I had a piece of insulation from the factory still up under the bed side and I noticed rust all around the crossmembers and I pulled down the insulation and boom rust and two holes. Must have acted like a salty sponge from beach driving.

@@john-michaelbridgeman1979ya, pretty much. Ford failed there. Either way, get some rustproofing of some kind sprayed inside the crossmembers.

Thanks for the share ! I just bought a f250 and all of my crossmembers are toast. Curious how much would this job cost if I had someone do it for me ? Thanks

No problem. I am not sure what a shop would charge. They may have a different way of going about the project. These take me roughly 12 hrs so maybe find out a shops labor rate and go from there. I found most places in my area don’t even bother. They just want to throw a new bed on it.

How much to have you do this to a truck? Your location?
