What Is The Reason You Need to Remove The Under Tray? This Video Makes It Seem Like A Totally Pointless Exercise.

Sadly this is a wrong video for car mentioned, the starter motor is on the front and easily removed from top without ŕemoving oil tray cover. So sad Haynes not reliable like this, what is with dipstick , damn twenty unnecessary steps. All we needed to do was remove one air pipe, to get access and remove bolts and wires on starter solenoid. Go by this video and you going to do damage to your car possibly, playing around with all those sensitive sensors, damn please delete video and post the correct one

Thanks for the comment. This video is for the 2.2L engine. I've no idea why the mechanic decided to remove the undertray (we'll get the video amended), but the dipstick is removed to give clearance for manoeuvring the starter from place. Removing and refitting sensors shouldn't damage your vehicle.

On what car? in my 2.0l petrol engine starter is in the middle of everything and half of the engone must be removed

??? This is totally wrong

Wrongly overloaded job disturbing other parts that have nothing to do with the starter motor . Could make things worse for someone short of time and energy !!!

I fitted a new starter motor to my galaxy. I used Haynes method and it was easy. You have to remove the other parts just to get access.
