You should complete the welding begore filler really, filler absorbs moisture , may be fine while weathers nice but over time ,really should apply a epoxy coating or red oxide over bare metal untill ready to do sll the filling.some of the better welding abd repirs i have witnessed on you tube 👍

Nice work, hope you painting the back of the repair peace before welding into place. use some copper weld through primer it seems to not burn off as much as the other weld through primers from welding the repair panel into place. keep up the good work though im doing the same but on a nova so i know how you feel lol 😅

Thank you I do prime up the panels. I have copper weld primer. I will use it and see how it goes. Thank you for the suggestion. Hope yours goes well too.

Hi, looks good what you have done . 👍👍I have always used 8mm diameter holes for plug welds and turned the welder up a notch relative to the butt welding setting. The plug weld holes you used looked to be smaller than 8mm? 7mm is ok but less than that and its difficult to be consistent. The arc has to start in the middle of the hole ideally.

That's great input and advice thank you. I reduced from 8 to 6 as I can't get the welder running correctly using the generator. But you are so right 8 it will be from now on thank you.

@@Mk6Escort-RS2000 prefect 👍 I see professionals using the joggler/ hole punch tools. The hole punch is only 5mm that's definitely too small. I guarantee they will have plug welds that didn't fuse with the metal underneath. You have to be really accurate with a 5mm hole and even then it won't be a very strong joint. Sounds like you are doing great, keep it up. I will watch some more videos 👍
