Ford GT is one of the best supercars of all time!

You mean the GT40? The Ford GT was really rather poorly made...
@saxwastaken

HDaviator It wasn't badly made, it just didn't sell for enough time to get refined.

***** that isn't how one makes supercars. You need to have a top product from day one, and the GT was simply too imperfect. The panel gaps alone where atrocious.

HDaviator There were no panel gaps, and it could kick anythings ass when it came out. It is also extremely tuneable.
As a kid I owned a PS2 game called Ford Racing 2. It had a SHIT TON of fords in it and one that always stood out was the GT concept. I still own that game but that was in 2002 or 3. I was 7 and until today,I had no idea it never went into production. It's still my favorite car on that game that I STILL own to this day.

FOR ME IT IS SIMPLY THE MOST BEAUTIFUL CAR EVER MADE. PERIOD.
33 dislikes? Probably Ferraris 13 board directors and their secretaries. ig: @PorscheCollector
Great segment! The Ford GT and the GT 40 are two of my all-time favorites and two of the most beautiful cars ever made!
WOW...... Simply WOW. GREAT documentary. Again WOW.
Alex, Drew Nick. Your production of ALL your presentations are an art form. Your videos have on a number of occasions made me late for my next appointment to the point where I will not look at them until the evening with nothing else on. I had forgotten about the GT 70 and thanks for showing it again. The three of you have walked into the history of some mind blowing cars and had the opportunity to hear, drive and experience what must be the best fun without a stunning woman saying YES! Guys if you are ever in Australia and in Brisbane QLD please let me know, I offer great food and access to my modest wine collection. But it will mean having to talk to people who really appreciate your work. Venerate is the word that comes to mind.
I cried. I will admit. those are some beautiful ass cars.
The Ford GT40/Ford GT is one of my all time favorites. What a car and what a history.
"When they do come; and they will, they'll certainly be special" Can't wait for the new one to hit the road. Planning a trip to Lemans now.
Nicely done, the GT40 is more than just a legendary race car but an example of Ford's dedication to motorsport and the passion to win at any cost!
I'm a racecar fanatic and I've never heard of the GT70. Pretty cool car. But the GT40 is the greatest gt car in history. And it's no coincidence that it was a joint effort between the US and the Brits. The new Ford GT just kicked in the front door. Can't wait till LeMans 2016 to watch Ford take on the word again! ENZO is turning!
If only you could send a standing ovation over the internet for the wondrous Short Film. Please don't call this a review, this is a passionate masterpiece.
I just sat down with my homemade cottage pie, a cold beer and watched this video.. and it was truly lovely. Cheers Alex
just awesome!!! That 5.4 l dual over head cam hand built engine is incredible! My brother has a 2012 GT-500 convertible and it is beyond awesome. My brother and I are Chevy guys at heart but these Ford's are incredible. Thank you Carol for the incredible designs and racing legends you left for the many generations that will in the future still be in awe of.

You know, this video made me cry of how emotional the story is. Hopefully the new GT will be as special as how special the old ones is to its story and will mark a great history
The music yal choose for these videos are just mint. Love it. Thanks for the history lesson!
Another spectacular video....a job well done! The photography, the camera work, the editing and the music make these films such a treat to watch. Thank you so much for producing this and I look forward to many, many more. By the way, where do you get the music from? It's great!!

Just a heads up to a testament of your quality....THIS video got me to subscribe to your channel! Keep up the great work
As much of a Viper fan that I am, I will always have a special place in my heart for the GT. I wish Ford would make a new one to play with the Corvette and Viper.
Beautiful cars, beautiful video. What an awesome tribute to the Ford GT.
This is probably the most amazing car-related video I ever saw. Jaw-dropping.
I'm a sucker for the Ford GT's, and I'm truly thankful you guys made this video and made it so well. I can't thank you enough.

These are filmed just like a Top Gear review. Love it.
filmed at castle combe racing circuit in Wiltshire England. beautiful cars.
Nice upload.
I desperately wish they had the GT90. excellent video but the modern Ford GT will always be a budget GT90 *****. Oh well, the best things that come from our imagination often never come to fruition. GT90, you are that quintessence of imaginative engineering and styling.
amazing video
Review on the Alfa Romeo 4C please you guys are awesome as always!
Brilliant vid.
That Ford GT is a thing of beauty.
I love Ford GTs. I just one of those cars that are epic, like an F1 or a Zonda or an Agera. Superb video by the way, its just great.
that engine sound is so great it is an old super car but with a sound like a Oldsmobile gosh that is pretty
astonishing video, i felt your emotions through it, damn you guys are good, keep it up!
Look forward to seeing an update with the new ford gt
BBC hire this kid
I remember reading a comapro test between the GT and the F430 in 05. it's funny how we're still fascinated by the GT today and nobody really remembers the F430 anymore...
I'm so excited for the 2016 GT. Awesome video +XCARFilms, I think another big F-You may be coming this next Le-Mans!!!
Well this got my sub.
amazing
hey car-perfection , would you please do a video on Galpin Auto's Ford GTR1 ? it sounds monstrous !
The GT70 is one of the most beautiful automobiles in the history of auto design.
superb. The race version of the Ford GT is also a good and easy GT2 car.
I live you guys use castle Combe. There all the time. Wish I could drop by
Nice
You are right about that, BUT! The clamshell is little bit tricky to open and close as it uses dual locking arms inside ( safety thing as it needs to be sure to not fly of at speeds over 200mph ) and they did not really close it correct.
@ matt brauninger, From what you wrote about the GT40 I can say that you like the car a lot. I to like the car a lot and have been a fan of it since 1969 I was 10 yr.I have read a lot about the cars and seen some in person. You do need to examine your facts again about the car and the LeMans track. Every photo of the 1923 track on any web site about it shows it having the Mulsanne Kink from it's very beginning ( don't confuse this with Mulsanne Corner). What you are getting confused about are the two added chicanes Forza and Michelin in 1990 along the Mulsanne Straight. These chicanes were added because the WMP88 Peugeot in 1988 did over 251mph down the Mulsanne Straight. The next year a Sauber Mercedes c9 was timed at over 248mph on that section of the track. The decision was made to have the1990 race add the two chicanes to slow the cars down.1989 was the last year that the Mulsanne was without the chicanes, not 1969 that you said. The web site you provided says the GT40 did 217mph. During the 1967 race the Holman & Moody Mk-IV cars J7 the number 3 and J8 the number 4 cars both were timed with identical trap speeds of 218.3mph. Back in the 90's I read an interview on AJ Foyt and he was asked the question " Did the car do 245mph?... and AJ said it did and it was very stable. Some years later I read where Frank Gardner, one of the drivers of the number 5 Mk-IIB GT40's said that around 2am in the morning one of the Mk-IV's had some carburetor adjustments made to make maximum power and the car did 246mph. The official record book trap speed for the Mk-IV is 218.3mph while some reports just round it off to 220mph. I would have to guess that back in those days and that late at night there was no one to officially record the cars speed. Dan Gurney has said that he and AJ never maxed out J5 the number1 car's performance and drivers Mark Donahue and Bruce Mclaren's car J6 the number 2 had aerodynamic issues after the tail section of the car came off at high speed and had to be taped back on.So this may have been achieved from J7 or J8 the Holman & Moody cars, but both J7 & J8 did crashed out. There are no official records of the Mk-IV during over 245mph but I do believe what both AJ and Frank Gardner said because they were team drivers for Ford and they should know what happened with the other Ford teams.
Excellent video, including the music. Does anybody know what songs they used?
that one panel gap on the GT is massive. Were the hood not closed properly? anyway: Epic Video...
Ford really needs to make the GT a regular production car. Kinda like Fords answer to the Corvette. If they kept it in production & made a base model, a hot street model & a high end street/track car they would have a winner. If they could offer a base model GT, even if they had to cut a few corners, that was $10,000 or so more than a ZR1 with similar performance I think they would have a huge success on their hands. Ford doesn't have a regular production flagship sports car and, if you ask me, they really need one. I love hot mid engine cars & simply can't afford to buy or maintain an exotic. Ford already has hi performance V8s, they just need to drop it in a mid engine chassis. I am ok with a plastic dash & going without some of the high end features if they could get the cost down to $80,000 for a base model. Kind of an everymans, low level exotic. I don't think I am the only one that would get excited over a car like that.

Tommy Fletcher I have, but the good ones are big money. I am actually looking at Panteras. They are reasonably priced & Ford still makes reasonably priced parts for them.

Panteras are awesome mate, they cost about half as much as a gt40 kit car and still look just as good if you ask me

I've been thinking the same thing for a while now. Price it just above the new Mustang but offer the same engines. There is literally no reason why they couldn't make a new one, with a few improvements, for around the price of a Corvette.

Ben Rogue Sadly the just wouldn't sell enough of them to justify. Carcos can hardly sell sedans nowadays. We're in the era of the suv with even rolls now doing one. I think. Perhaps if they made a four seater SUV version it would sell. 😩. I hope someday we get back to two door cars being popular.
if only that GT90 was the real deal. Seemed like Fords version of a Veyron, before the Veyron. I think I wanted to drive that car in Gran Turismo 2.
That sound...
Good God... WANT. Ford GTs >>>>.... Thanks XCar, this really was beautiful.
used to play need for speed in 1998 or 99 and used the ford gt90 in the game lol I was 10 at the time wish it was made :(
Goy is cool, but my real thanks go to the filming/camera team. Lovely filming. Car pr0n!
I think they are bringing it back
