Having done mods with electronics on other cars in the past, I 100% recommended you always disconnect the battery!

Just the 12v battery, no need to worry about the high voltage battery, better to just install a kill switch for the head unit

Just a week ago I bought a 2016 Ford Fusion SE 2.5L with 8” screen and without navigation to replace a 2013 SE that was recently totaled. Not sure which Sync I have. Still trying to find out how I can find out that info. I had been searching for a CarPlay upgrade for my car so I could use the nav on my iPhone. I’d found a unit that looked OEM and a KZread site that gave excellent detailed instructions on how to install it. I was all set that that was what I was going to get, even though it cost $1,600! Ouch! Then I just happened to find this video(thanks KZread algorithm!) Not only is this unit a beautiful unit, but it also upgrades the look of the car! This unit costs A LOT less, according to the Phoenix website. And lastly and in my opinion the best part, is that Dito Cardona did an absolutely EXCELLENT job with this tutorial! Though I’ve never done anything like this before, and never thought I could, after watching Dito’s video, I actually think I CAN do this install and I’m 67! Oh yeah, actually I did watch 2 other videos about a similar unit but for a tutorial they were both garbage! Went way too fast and didn’t lay out all the steps like Dito did. DITO, if you’re reading and responding to comments I’d like to know, since there appears to be multiple versions of this unit on the Phoenix website, although only one is available at this time. Is that the one that you have? 64g of rom? Anyway, great tutorial video! Would love to see one by you doing a dash cam hardwire into the cabin fuse box.

Do u have the Sony system in your car? If it's a 2016 it should be sync 2 like mine. But mine is the Energi Titanium with the Sony system. Believe it or not the unit he just installed is actually extremely outdated by software standards. The one I have is Android 13 his is only Android 9. Mine is 5g high speed with the Snapdragon CPU which runs at lightning speed. U can get it in sync 2 or 3 or 4. As for your dash cam u don't need to wire it directly to the fuse box. All the power u need is behind the head unit

Awesome video, I havw a 2018 Ford Fusion Energi SE and my APIM module recently went out so I need to replace it. I wantwd to go aftermarket and I have seen these posted. I have heard mixed reviews about these units but after watching your video im sold!! I can't wait to swap everything out and get up and running again.

I too was very cautious about Android head units in general and especially about this company. I did a ton of research and interviewed a few people online who had posted about theirs that were the same unit as the one I needed. Mine is a for a Ram 4th gen. I've been nothing but pleased and it's been over 4 months since I've installed mine. I setup a shortcut on my iPhone so hotspot always turns on whenever my phone connects to bluetooth and the head unit is ready to play music as soon as I drive away. I haven't had any issues with it at all. Took just over a month for delivery.

@@patcreno It will take up to two months and there is no real way to track it until fedex actually gets it. Their M.O. is to say "two weeks" anytime you ask. I got mine and it has been working great for 4 months. Phoenix is just a front for the Chinese manufacturing factory and they do a real bad job of marketing and yeah, they just generally seem shady.

I just ordered this exact same unit a couple weeks ago and just got notified that they aren’t in stock and don’t know when they’ll be in stock again… could take a couple months.

I had this installed in my Fusion for about a week and had nothing but problems with it, but to each their own and good luck!. I don't recommend myself but I do recommend just using a tablet, get some magnets attach it to your dash and boom head unit lol.

What are some of your issues bc I have a cpl major that I can’t find help for such as no sound at all And the incorrect sync is there so can’t change my ac or anything.

@datwayclay3704 screen flickers on and off, no sound, whole thing completely shuts off then turns back on, or wont even turn on at all. Its not worth the hassle for me

@@zuluhawk6346 yeh nah that’s crazy I fixed the ac nd I might be able to fix the sound one they send me brackets bc I’m not sure why they somehow forget everyone’s. But haven’t had flickering issues yet. I’ll stay updated

I was planning on getting the exact same one but then this person hit me and now my car is totaled so I'm probably gonna swap over to a Mustang 14 or something, but that Tesla screen is definitely one of the best in my opinion. Haven't never bought it but it looked pretty good. Also even though I don't have a ford fusion no more i still enjoy watching the videos and they really help me get into the car community and customize my own vehicle even though I didn't get that far on my fusion anyways love the vids fam Edit (It might not be the same one)

Wouldnt i just take the back modudle off and place it on the new raido? If i go without the sync, would i retain the steering wheel controls? Any input is appreciated.

Could you explain which screen you purchased? was it the only one available that you purchased, which was 4 g ram 64 g rom android 9 w/ built in car play andriod auto" when selecting the other options (considering the higher the number the better it might be) they are showing unavailable, thinking its that popular. I just got a new 2016 SE, but its the stock small screen, will I need to uprgade that to a newer version of sync before I even spend the money on this? My old fusion I got totalled last month. Had it since 2015, got it at 25k miles and the last the speedometer had shown was 256,680 miles. Im definitely going to make this one last

You shouldn't have to upgrade the sync (unless you're having malfunctioning problems with it, which is pretty common)

You just select what sync unit you have when you purchase it. No need to upgrade your sync unit at all.

I have a question. So my 2013 ford fusions display turns off soon soon as I turn off the car. Even when I have the key one click so I can still have the electronics on..the display says “display off to save battery” how can I turn that off?
