Great to see one again Claire and good you’re keeping it on the road and restoring it. It struck a chord with me as I remember fondly my own 1.6LX in Burgundy, a company car (my first new car ever) and picked up on ‘G’ plate change day.

A former work colleague had a Fiesta ST (150hp) new and loved it but said it needed a sixth gear. I think the viper stripes were an option and a popular one with the Ford GT sporting the same style stripes. The Mk6 escort is unusual being a five door GTI. There is a three door the same colour near to me. In the early 2000s I had two work friends with Escorts, one a GTI and the other an RS2000. Another friend had the finesse in that same blue which was a great car with a 1.6 16v engine and loads of other extras at a competitive price as the escort was being fazed out ready for this strangely styled new car called a Focus. I was offered a Street Ka non runner FOC about 18 months ago but sadly I didn't have the space. I'd like to get my hands on a 1.7 Puma and I too remember the Steve McQueen advert. I remember someone local having a Sierra GLS 4x4 in white back in the 1990's Nice to see such an original looking mk5 Escort RS2000. It's a long time since I've seen a mk4 Escort estate. That Orion with the oval grill is a rarity. I don't think that ford even produced the mk5b Escorts for very long before the Mk6 took over.

The 2wd magenta is my dads with my red st in the background , took me weeks of convincing for him to bring it out of the garage and along to the show 😂

I’ll let him know! He’s the second owner, he got it in ‘93 and it’s only got 54k. He just never uses it 😂

Thanks, and to be honest with production now stopped I think Fiestas have to go up in value. Something about the sharp styling of the early Mk1s that's just so right.

How is it we can see some incredible customization with Ford cars that go back to the 70's but I can't find anywhere in the North East of England where I can get a Mountune upgrade for my Focus RS MK3?

My dad had an eclipse escort 18.d back in the day plus escort estate dont see both now.

appreciate the classics as have so much more character even if Im a mk2 ST225 owner, but im no fan of any pop n bang mapped cars makes just walk away
