This video show me that I will never attempt this Job 😢nor have heat 😅 good video
Great video Gilbert! I admired your lack of frustration and determination. I'm an old timer and remember changing a heater core on a '66 Ford Galaxie. It had four 3/8" bolts that held it in, from inside the engine compartment and the two hose clamps. Now that I own a 1997 F150, I will try my best to be as calm as you when I change the heater core. Keep making great videos Gilbert!
I would’ve pulled my hair out if I hadn’t have seen your video first! Great recommendations on only taking out what is necessary! I ended up having to replace the heater hoses on my 2002 Ford F-150 4.6L as well. You made this job a breeze! Thanks brotha!!!

@@brosolution Thanks, it turns out it wasn't the core but the ends I put on the hose wouldn't secure. I ended up using the old fashioned screw clamp to secure the hoses on the heater core. Not easy but easier than replacing the heater core!😊
You have the best most informative video on KZread for changing out the heater core on 98-03 f150 that I found great job explaining the whole process helped me out a lot. Thanks for taking your time to make such a informative in depth video couldn't have done it without it.

OMG, I have watched many videos and everyone takes the dash completely apart to get the core out. I just bypassed mine till I had the time to do the 3 to 6 hour job. Now after watching your video I wish i would have seen this months ago. I wouldn't have cut my factory hoses and bypassed it. Thanks, I will ne fixing it soon and doing it your way. Thanks
Excellent instructions bro... I have completed heater core replacement thanks of you... mil gracias down here from Chile...
Something to mention here. When replacing the heater core it's a good idea to replace the blend door actuator. They can easily break due to the plastic breaking. You will hear a clicking noise when adjusting temperature.

Yes...the Carpet is fine. At 1:40 in your Video you Remove the Passenger Side Panel with the Wires & Plugs behind ... I thought they might be coming in through there.
So 10 minutes to pull the actual Heater Core out? 2 hours to rip the dash out. Gotcha!!

my old job... memories
I have a 2001 Ford F150. In mine I didn’t have to remove the shifter cable out of the bracket. Once it’s popped off the metal piece, there is enough play in the cable that you can safely drop the steering wheel without damaging it. Be careful though! Hope this helps someone!
Only issue is on newer models with 4x4 on dash you have to pull the switch. To disconnect. I see your 4x4 selection is on the floor as it should be.
Can you remove the box the coils are in without disconnecting the ac lines? I need to go behind it to find the vacuum line that fell inside the fire wall.
Great vid bro right to the point did Any if you all remove dash and notice the small black boxes that have fuses in them ? I think I have two or 3 been wondering what there for anyone know? Removing all heat and AC and air bag stuff for a audio build would like to cut these out if it's heat ac related if anyone knows

In that bundle is the relays for your door locks and what not. Forget what else.
I have a question Does the 99's models go out the same way as this one?
I'm probably going to have to remove the lower dash cover below my steering wheel to change out the blower motor relay switch on my pick-up. Yep, it's a mess down there and I don't know why.
Can Rodents get in through the Holes on the Right & Left Side of the Interior Cab down behind the Foot Panels? Can they gen in through the Heater if the Door is Stuck Open?
@brosolution
5 жыл бұрын
If the carpet is fine i dont think they can. They might be going in thru the air vents,thats the only way you can go in where the heatercore is at.. if you got a plastics cover in front of the windshield remove it and check under there you might have to remove de windshield wipers
Do you have to drain the coolant before cutting the lines to the heater core? I imagine you would but wanted to confirm.
Great job but one questions , how much does it cost this job to get done ? My a.c. is not working and they told me to remove dash to clean all the dust
@brosolution

This jod it take about 10hrs of labor we charge $100 per hour and if there is any parts that need to be replace we just add that to the total price alot of times you can flush the system with out take out the dash you should ask the mechanic if this is an option for your truck...I hope it geta solve soon
