I have had that same cover on my F-150 for three years. Very happy with it. The only time I have water get into the bed is when I go through a high pressure car wash. Not sure why your clamps are different, mine snap into place holding them flat.

When you let it sit clamped for a few hrs then re tighten them and it will make it water tight

And your supposed to have a rope to unclamp it in one pull I use the rope to tie them up to the tarp when folding
