"Not sure if that's how it's supposed to be used" Use them however will get the job done, that's what I do. Guys cut these cup adapters apart, weld them together, stack them - just as long as you know you may run the risk of chowdering up an adapter or creating dangerous less and optimal adapter sandwich. Just give us a call after for a replacement when you shoot one into lower orbit.

Haha I should send you a picture of all the chowdered up ones I have....errrr I mean custom cups I have. Some of them you can smell the frustration steaming off them still. Did you notice the little adapter rings TTX sent with their ball joints? Could have a ton of different sizes of those for popular ball joints to fit just one bigger cup and cover a multitude of bj's. I am sure you are all ready on that though, or heck for all I know you make them for Mevotech haha

Ever since Eric has been using Astro tools, I've been slowly (as money allows) building a collection. You wouldn't believe how many guys at work have fallen in love with your stuff! As an aircraft mechanic, I abuse them every bit as much as this man does, and the stuff just doesn't break! The 4980 knocked out a 1 3/8" diameter horizontal stab pivot shaft tonight in fact, when a 9x rivet gun couldn't!

Great video again Eric. I had a similar problem last weekend working on a gravely drive changing the driveshaft on a VW pickup the balljoing boot was totally stripped and the ball joint was in there so hard it broke and bent the presses but with heat press and the pursuation of a lead hammer i finally got it out but that thing was fighting me all the way. So good to see you are able to have all these great tools and that you also use them as opposed to unnecesary violence.

I would tighten the lower joint then begin tightening the upper if I noticed it was binding I would knock it back and forth with a big hammer but not much force it would always get right and I would continue tightening and tap again if necessary. Sometimes after all was tight I would tap them around and they would feel better. It’s a weird set up. Anyway love your vids, your very talented, I wish you and yours continued happiness.

Yeah, I don't know how you keep up with owning a small business, having a wife and children and doing all these awesome YT videos. You must be busier than a one-legged man in a three-legged race, but the number of calls you get reflect just how desperate people are for good information and just how bad most of the other shops are. I'm glad I found your channel and sure wished you lived within a few hundred miles of me. I'd gladly make the trip for repairs. Thanks Eric and hang in there bud!! :>)

I like watching other pros do it after I've done it to see if they're doing it right. Been doing lots of F250 front ends lately. Not a bad gig. They're 2 hours a piece. The slap on ball joint press is amazing. Air hammer them out, press them in.

The calls are a compliment, Shows they trust you. That being said... Yes. The bills have to be paid. Hey! idea... Hire someone to man a (900) number and charge them the shop rate for the calls. LOL!!! Great channel.

As a relatively new subscriber and life long diy er I have to say I really enjoy this channel and your videos. Don't feel embarrassment if something you did wasn't right, you didn't edit it out, you owned it. Use it as "this is what happens if you get ahead of yourself with xxx of different types, and this is how you remedy it". You're human. Keep up the great videos.

The important thing is how you responded to "doing something stupid." You stopped and corrected the binding joints, and some would have shipped it that way. Well done.

I appreciate your honesty with things. most would clip out the portion where they made a mistake, but you take it with stride. It's why I still watch the channel. As a suggestion with moving through mistakes though, maybe leave a note at the beginning of the video saying to pay attention because you made a mistake and corrected it, for those who are following along, pausing, and following along again. just in case they follow to that point and then bolt on a tire and drive away :D

Nice tip on the ball joint binding. That would have stumped me for a while. Always learning from you. You Tube callers, stop calling him and go get your hands dirty. You learn twice as much from doing as you do from watching. Still waiting on that Discovery channel mechanic show featuring Eric O!

😆🙄I'm such a dork. I spent my afternoon trying to press those ball joints in the wrong direction...Oh boy...came back to verify I was pressing them "out" in the "correct" direction after wasting 4 hours going in the WRONG direction. Grateful for these tutorials. You know who to call if you ever need these dang-gum ball joints pressed out again.

Free tip Friday: that Astro master ball joint kit is the exact same kit as the Orion Motor Tech ball joint kit on Amazon.... The Orion kit is like 20 bucks cheaper. Made by the same company, only difference is the color of the blow molded case. Rebranded like everything else out there. You're welcome.
