Ford Explorer Ball Joints Control Arms Replace

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

In this video I show the process for replacing the font suspension upper control arms (with ball joints) lower ball joints and outer tie rod ends on a 1998 4WD Ford Explorer. This process is similar to 2wd versions as well as a broad year model range of Ford Explorer vehicles.

    If you replace the lower ball joint do you have to replace the bushings of the control arm? Are these bushings the same or different?

  • @BlindMansRevenge2002

    @BlindMansRevenge2002

    5 жыл бұрын

    Betzaida Acevedo The answer to your question is no. With this year Ford explore you have two choices. The first being that you can replace the ball joints only or you can swap out the entire lower control arm assembly. If you choose to swap out the entire lower control arm assembly and you get the part from Ford it will already have the ball joints and bushings pre-installed.

  • @smittdog2005

    Considering the condition of the ball joints and outer tie rod ends, unless the inner tie rod ends are fairly new, I would have replaced them also as long as I had everything apart.
