Here I drain and fill the fluids for the front diff., the rear diff., and the 4x4 transfer case.
Fluids for each item-
Front & rear differential I used 80W-90 Motorcraft rear axle lubricant.
Note the spec is 75w-85 Motorcraft rear axle lubricant. But that is also more expensive.
Front differential capacity is 1.8 qt
Rear differential capacity will vary depending on differential size- 8.8 or 9.75
8.8 -2.0 qt
9.75 -2.5 qt-
Also note if you have an elocker(limited slip) you will need 4oz of friction modifier (XL-3). Thus, you will want to reduce the amount of gear oil by the amount of friction modifier you add.
The transfer case
Capacity is 1.5 qt
The fluid I used is Motorcraft XT-10-QLVC
Torque spec for the drain/fill bolt on the front/rear differential is 18 lb ft
Torque spec for the transfer case drain/fill bolt is 11 lb ft.
I used thread sealent on all the drain/fill bolts. The procedure only stated to use it on the transfer case darin/fill bolts.
May also want a fluid extractor in case none of the drain bolts come out.
also want a qt fluid pump- unless you buy the fluid in the plastic pouches.

current milage is 85k miles
be sure to recycle your old fluid/s. at any automotive store that accepts used motoroil.
