Does anyone think its funny how its so hard to track down how most anti lags actually function. Everyone goes in straight lines and thinks anti lag in 2 step launch control. lol It's something not seen in the US much. Amazing videos of sexy cars NM2255. So sad we didn't get these cars.

It's British. The only thing American about it is the "FORD" badge on the front and back. This car was made by Ford Team RS (A British rally team) and tuned by Cosworth (A British tuner).

The escort was originally for the U.K. Market but they were expanded into the full European market not long after

Im sure you are thinking of launch control, anti lag is mainly used when the car is moving to keep the turbo spooled.

I think it sounds awesome but the primary function isn't the sound anyway. An Antilag system can be quite useful, the sound is only a side effect.

Still is the best looking car in my opinion.

The anti lag for turbochargers sound nice but I thought with anti lag it will have bigger exhaust flames

@edojuice Tutto giusto come dice NM2255, in poche parole e' solamente una seconda mappatura. Come dice lui viene usata molto nei rally per evitare il ritardo della turbina...al motore non fa molto bene in qualsiasi caso, sopratutto le temperature si innalzano un bel po'!

Did anyone say already that this is afterfire and not backfire? Backfire = Flame from combustion shoots back through the inlet. Afterfire = leftover fuel from combustion detonates somewere in the exhaust and makes the popping sound in the video
