It's design for developing country which is have special purpose like a flood and rocky roads, it has 200 mm ground clearance, 550 mm water wading, Thats why the Ecosport feels lack of handling, but in a country where is lack of good asphalt road and floody such as Brazil, Indian and Indonesian, it works well than the Nissan Juke... just my 2 cents

Good point… Though I actually would consider buying one if available in the States. California roads aren't much better than the developing world. Lol. Anyway, that 1990s-style spare tire and Toyota-style rear gate are ridiculous.

Yes good comment and very valid. I live in Australia with 35 to 45 degee celsius heat, - annual flooding and dirt/rocky roads - so these little suv's are perfect for country towns.

having lived with a gen 1 land rover Freelander for 12 years, in the real world, the spare wheel on the boot and the side hinged door isn't a problem. I'd never had issues with it, whilst reversing into parking spaces, in my time of ownership

he's doing consumer reviews for europeans, and that car doesn't meet the standards of the rest of the ford line-up or european rivals. It would be ok if it was sold at a low price, but it costs more than a dacia duster.

It's a "Ford Brazil" project for emerging markets, and in the UK, it should be aimed at the Dacia Duster, which isn't known for good build-quality either.

ecosport is a good car i drive mine 4 years now... and i love this urban suv car😊

This car make sense here in Argentina, and also in Brasil. It's competitive compared to the Duster, it has a good equipment, and just enough room for a modern family. But sending it to Europe just the same as it is presented here on this side of the Atlantic is pointless... it should be cheaper, or at least have better quality materials.

Own an ecosport Ecooboost and it really is good for Indian Conditions. Worth each and every penny in this segement. Dont know about other countries though.

david dykeman we measure distance in miles, but temperature in Celsius. Even more odd is that our petrol/diesel is delivered in litres!

djmhyde There's one more, Burma. Which as we know is just slightly better off than Liberia. And David the Troll above also conveniently ignores that the US is officially metric. All calculations made by the US government and it's entities are in metric. The government then have a tendency to convert it to nonsensical imperial measurements because their inhabitants don't get it otherwise. All engineering made by US companies is made in metric. The last time a american engineer used imperial in his professional capacity he crashed the Mars Climate Orbiter. All research made everywhere in the world is metric. Because it makes sense.

All measurement systems are decided on by convention. Neither the mile, nor the kilometer can claim the moral high ground. If you really want to only use units that are actually meaningful, you need to use the nautical mile, which is one minute of arc on a meridian, and even that is variable! What's so nice about metric is that it is a decimal system and all units are inter-related. Thanks to centuries of human experience, even two adjacent cities used different definitions of the same measurement unit.

This car was designed in Brazil and the 1st generation was nice, but the first day I saw this new generation I thought, "What the crap did they do?" Ugly since ever. But, you know, developed in Brazil. You can't expect much, anyway. But, my real big surprise was seeing this car being sold in countries like German. Unbelievable.

Of course the Ford ecosport maybe a bit of a failure in the UK, but this may not always be the case with every other global market. You have to take into account that this product has only been out for a few months. Its not enough time for Ford to adapt their ecosport to different tastes & markets, hence the only variant of the Ecosport out there is adapted to the Brazillian & Indonesian market only. So whilst the product may be a little bit below standard compared to the rest of Fords fleet over here, it maybe above standard in Brazil. One mans trash is another mans treasure.

This car sold like hot cake in India when it is launched. Infact I have one for last 6 years and it’s awesome car n I love it 🥰. Damn why Matt is so rude on this car btw his voice not matching with lip movements , may be 🤔.

I don't find boot doors that open from the side to be very functional and the mounted spare wheel in a turn-off. I was so happy when Toyota stopped doing that on the Rav4

my dad has 2015 focus so I consider getting this ford but it just cost more than Juke and honestly Juke feels better and has 5 star while this ford has 4 star safety rating...

The only review of carbuyer, i don't think is good. Steering might not be so well planted, but its fine ( in my TD). Other reviews finds its handling good:-Ford EcoSport review - Auto Express Also, It has been made to be under 4 metres ( actually the car is 3999 mm excluding the spare wheel) to save on some taxes/duty in India. And still keeping the boot space fine (back seat leg space as well)

Who thought it was a good idea to add THAT many grills?!

What a harsh review. I find it almost impossible that everything about this car is rubbish!! Very subjective

How many grills does it need? And also, in 0:26 that thing wobbles. In other words, not good quality.

Why not designed Ford vehicles such as large family this wonderful design and beautiful face

I like how only the Juke, Captur and 2008 are reminded. No one cares about the Opel/Vauxhall Mokka and Chevy Trax (which were before the Captur and 2008...)

went to buy the ford loved the 1.0 turbo.pushes out an amazing 125 bhp.there the good news ends.wanted an automatic.they do it in 1.5 petrol.less power,less economical.where is the sense in that ford?many people would want the new 1.0 turbo as an automatic.for the other people here any japanese buy is good.you have many to choose from.mazda c3,honda hrv,mitsubishi asx,nissan juke.all great and above all reliable and in automatic form the juke as a 1.2 turbo.shame about the ford caus it looks good and the titanium spec is very good indeed.the one i wanted in blue as a 1.0 turbo was 17,500euros.

I actually like this ute. Mind you, it's not suppose to be as sporty as the Fiesta or Focus. I think if Ford offered this is in the States without that 1990s style spare wheel and Toyota rear gate, I might consider this as a daily driver.

I have 2017 version and I like the car and I didn't agreed with mat what matters to me is the safety features in the car it's have ABS and esc and others safety features and 6 or 7 airbag and it's cheap here I agreed inside build not that great but it's okay the important the safety and higher levels car with cheaper price for our not good road and some off roads and agreed the most I hate in the car the rear door and the space behind in the trunk but you can't have it all with this price.

this is the best selling ford in india..i wonder why??. and its a massive hit and people love it for its looks

I live in India and have a ecosport because it's the first compact SUV with 200 mm of ground clearance and solid build which most cars in India are not and there's no juke in India so to take Indian roads you do need an SUV special in the countryside

And it is TERRIBLE, like ALL Ford vehicles made in Brazil... Sorry, but every single Ford made in Brazil, or at least the one I have met, have a questionable and poor quality and durability/reliability.... A Renault Duster made in Colombia is a way better option in terms of performance and raliability.

Well, I have seen it, I have been in that car... And just with this review, it is good enough... Car Buyers reviews are very accurate... And all the points shown in the video, I have tested them by my self... There are reviews stating the same in South America... More than 5 reviewers and many drivers can't be wrong... If I have to buy an inexpensive SUV, let me have a Renault Duster.... Way more practical, comfortable and useful.

Please watch autocar india,overdrive,ndtv car and bike show,times drive etc reviews of Duster vs Ecosport I have been driving this car for almost 2 weeks for a full detailed review and this car aint bad by anu means, It lacks the composure of some ford hatchs and sedans and interior quality sure sucks But apart from that its way more practical,more spacious,more reasonable car than the cramped Fiesta

And now I'm sure I've made the right decision of picking the Honda City over this one.

Don't get too caught up in the pronunciation... remember, if you put an S in front of the word laughter, it becomes a totally different word in meaning and pronunciation.

The EcoSport was designed for the South American market so Ford tried to make it as cheap as it can. I don't know why they took to the UK without improving it first.

this car was very popular when it was lanuched few months ago in my country indonesia, in here it costs around 20-25k US dollar, and every media in my country said this is a very" good car, but I still think that the nissan juke is much better than this (I dont compare with renault duster because in my country it costs around 27k US dollar)

Yes my friend!! that is the type of crap we get in Brazil. And that Project was first instroduced here. Guess how much that cost down here...... for the cheapest 1.6 gasoline engine $29.000 american dollars!!! That type of car with that terrible build quality wont stand a chance in EUROPE. You people have much better options! Chears!!

Well we now know which is Matt's least favourite car.. Too bad though, it really looks good...in and outside.
