His "mmm k" reminds me of that South Park dude.
2009 ford f150 4.6L V8 6r80 transmission. When I was driving on a dirt road going 40mph and a wrench light display and I got to the Food store parking lot and took out the OBD2 scsnner and DTC says p0741 torque converter switch off. When I drag something heavy like a railroad metal behind my truck, transmission guages goes up to hot position and my electrical fan kicks in to help cool it down to normal. While I was heading uphill on highway on normal highway speeds we heard a chuck sound and wrench light came on. When I drain out the transmission fluid i dont see no burnt smell or leaking fluids but just tons of mud underneath. Only thing is, every time I do trans fluid change, the screw it gets stuck or stripped but i cant take it out. After we took out the transnission to replace the torque converter for the new one. We put it back in but we hear a stud sound, not sure if we broke the pump assembly and we took it back out and hard to see inside, already replace the seal, and unsure if we have to replacd the oil pump assembly. All seals have to be replace when doing the transmission converter part. Transmission gear runs good during reverse, forward in drive, netural and when i go downhill i feel the transmission shuddering during acceleration. I do some little heavy work like drag metal rail, and wood hsuling. No crazy drives. just normal drives.
great clip. Thanks
Great informative video!
Красота !
Hello, I am a fellow gearhead enthusiast. I am doing a coyote swap in my ObS F150. I accidentally mated the transmission and engine without the torque converter being fully seated. My first question is can I just replace the pump housing without having to takeoff the oil pan and valve body? From what I’ve researched the possible damages that can occur from doing the stupid mistake that I did is Broken oil pump Broken torque converter Broken flywheel Do you think there could be more damage beyond the oil pump?
I have a 2010 Ford Expedition 2wd. I have 249,000 miles and just had the roller followers, timing chain, phasers, high volume oil pump, new water pump, new alternator, new spark plugs brown boots. I have changed the transmission fluid and filter every 2 yrs since I bought it 2012. The problem is it has a clunk from a take off and shifts hard the 1 and 2 great. Then when slowing down same clunk. The checked the fluid and it doesn't smell burnt I'm at a lost. I don't know if I should replace the value body, solenoid, torque converter? If I take it to the Ford dealership can they diagnose the issue and tell me the fix or should I go to a transmission repair facility?

Hey Mr.Ben, I just replaced my transmission on my car. And no for some reason when I try to start it, everything shuts off, as well as my PRNDS doesn’t show up on my dash, I keep getting “parking aid”, wondering if you could help with tips or give me insight to what’s going on, thank you

Hi, your connector on the back of the transmission may be broken or unseated. Or full of fluid
My 6r80 slips for 1st to 2nd wen I give it hard acceleration, but in sport shift mode it won’t slip at all. If I’m gentle on the accelerator taking off it won’t slip. Iv got no transmission DTCs on forscan. Any common issues that can cause that slip?Otherwise iv got no issues with it. Changed the fluid n filter. Somebody mentioned it cud be a drum issue. Which one is the 1st n 2nd drum I’m not sure. Great tear down vid

Does it clunk or actually slip? Since it doesn't do it in sport mode, it may be worth trying a new valve body before tearing into it. As long as there isn't a burnt smell in the fluid. 2nd gear should be intermediate on this. IIRC, that's on the center support. So the two shims that slide on the edge of the support may be worn, or the case where they ride (if you only have a clunk)

No clunk it just slips in drive goin into 2nd gear. Thanks for the reply il have a look IIRC intermediate shaft drum set n the shims got that. Any tcm live data pids that may help me diagnose the valve body ? there’s a ton of live tranny data in forscan. Iv got no shift solenoid /speed input output DTCs at all. Other than that slip no other issues of clunking or hard shifting. It has done 150,000 miles this tranny

@user-df4jl5jl6k trans slip desired and slip measured should match, if they don't it's a slip. If there's no burnt odor, then you can replace the solenoid for the intermediate clutch, or the whole valve body

My work has that, but you can get similar mounts on amazon amzn.to/3UEvGh3
Wow that fluid looked almost black,, the vans more than any other vehicle need proper trans maintenance

Yeah! I think that it's converter clutch material
You make it look too easy.

Just been doing it too long I guess! Thanks. I've got it back together today, waiting on a torque converter
How in the world does something like that happen??
