Ron continues helping out from beyond the grave. 500 miles away from home and I needed to change out my radiator (trans cooler leaking) and Ron was able to show me the easy way to get the shroud out without resorting to cutting. Here it is a Sunday, actually New Years Eve Day and the parts store in Flagstaff had a radiator in stock and I was able to get it swapped out. Thanks you again Ron..RIP...hopefully his channel is still paying out to his family.

RIP Ron. I've watched he'd so many of his videos I feel like I know him. Lol. His videos have saved me a ton of money and grew my knowledge of the 6.0 diesel to a pretty high understanding.

Had to replace my radiator and like others, I found this video extremely helpful, especially for getting the fan shroud out and back in. Watch it a few times to see how he manipulates it around. While people have done this job in an hour, I drained my system out the petcock to be neat, and that is slow. Got almost 3 gallons out. My truck is a 2004 with the threaded trans cooler lines and they did not want to come loose so more time spent letting PB Blaster soak in. Had to resort to using a flare nut wrench with a pipe extension to get one fitting loose, which worked but I considered it risky. Was sad to learn that Ron had died, although I see he posted a lot of videos and I may need another one in the future. His legacy will live on.

That guy has been pushing up daisies now for 5 years AND HE IS STILL HELPING OUT! I had the entire top tank on my '05 F-350 6.0 start leaking at the crimp. I wasn't going to do this myself and I watched this video. Yeah, I can do that. It is on the truck with Rotella ELC NF in it. Great video! Thanks, Ron.

I’m one of those people that “never comments” but I just got. 6.0 3 months ago the radiator busted. I literally looked at this video and had it all done and back together in a hour. THANKKKKKKK YOOOUUUU!!!!!

Awesome, I gotta tackle mine in the morning, mine just exposed to me a small crack in the plastic by the inlet hose. I'm replacing it with the same ole stock radiator, the old one did it's job the past 10 years. Thanks for the video Ron.

Great video. You make it look very easy. I had some trouble getting the oil lines off. I purchased the plastic removal tool and of course it broke once I got to the second line, but I just unscrewed the fitting from the radiator. I replaced my ford radiator with an all aluminum one from eBay and saved a ton a money by doing the repair myself thanks to your instructions.

Ron, you are awesome. Over the past two years, your videos have kept me from driving my 2003 6.0 off a cliff or, in the alternative, it bankrupting me. Great that you showed both types of trans oil cooler lines because that is what I need to replace on mine. They are all rusted out up front. Sadly, the rust is so bad that the nuts that screw into the radiator are pretty much gone without me even trying to put a wrench on them. Guessing I am going to have to go with heat and vise grips, along with a prayer. Watched your video 20 times on how to replace the EGR cooler to oil cooler blue hose and got it done. Of course, it only took me about 3 hours to accomplish the task and I had a torx wrench that made it simple. Hard part for me was getting the metal case off.

Thank you so much for posting this. I just replaced mine with a mishimoto radiator and your video saved me a lot of time. Thank you

I’m about to replace my oem with a Mishimoto, in the video from Mishimoto they remove the intercooler and core support beam, in Rons video he does not. Did you have to remove your intercooler or anything like that to swap in the Mishimoto?

This video is immensely helpful. I will say, moving the battery cable out of the way to give clearance did not allow my radiator to move out of the way at all, it was very stiff. I ended up lifting it about an inch out of place and then I could just pry the shroud out. Without this video, I probably would’ve just gotten frustrated and cut it out lol.

Thanks, the video was very useful to me when I had to replace the serpentine belt tensioner on a 2004 F450 6.0. Apparently the Ford procedure is to remove the rad in order to access the tensioner but it was easy enough to do after removing just the fan shroud. The video showed me how to remove the fan shroud. I did a lot of searching on the internet to find out about accessing the tensioner and this video was the only one that helped.

Gone but not forgotten and still doing good things for others.

Fiesta Ford in So Cal. Radiator do not like drastic pressure changes or temperature changes. Egr coolers fail from restricted oil coolers or being low on coolant. Head gaskets fail from a poor design (I wrote that to keep the flames down) and from mods and heat. Radiators fail from spikes if heat or pressures. The coolant bottle is the main leaks I find .

Great video. The only thing I would change is when reinstalling the radiator and shroud would be to put them together. They slide in much easier and less change of damaging the radiator fins. Thanks!

Great video, saved me lots of time but you should mention that the quick disconnect tool needed for the cooler lines is specific for Ford & can only be bought from tool trucks.

Just changed my radiator following the video and was pretty easy. Only had trouble trying to remove one oil cooler adapter so just left it on.

Very nice and informative! I immediately subscribed. I am working on my radiator now and this was very helpful.

Changed my radiator last night thanks to your great video. I also had brownish/reddish fluid in the bottom of my radiator (like the one you change shows dripping on your arms). because it can be a bitch to remove, and most people dont know about removing the pos cable going past the front of the rad for the extra room, it is a tight fit:P

I realize this video was 9 years ago, but I am about to replace a radiator on a customer's vehicle in two days. He has a 6.0 diesel F-150 or 250 2004. They offered the all aluminum radiator for about $200 less than a OEM radiator with plastic mended with aluminum. Just looking for advice before I get myself into trouble.
