I put that on my 20 6.7 except mine is the aluminum color. Had mine on for about 35000 miles doing hotshot trucking with it. It most definitely makes a difference in the tranny Temps. It stays much cooler. Never have got the Trans Temps up above 225 even with 30k lbs pulling up the steep grades in the west. I love it!

@@garlandmeredith2039aluminum dissipates heat very efficiently especially with internal and external fins with all that cooling air rushing by underneath the truck. The stock pan is plastic which is a great insulator as far as holding in heat, exactly what you don’t want.

I,did the pan and filter upgrade on my 2005 F350 DRW With The pan and much improved FT180 Filter from the switch to The 6.4l and you can also eliminate The bypass filter, the small roll of toilet paper, you have to get that pan as it's a little deeper to allow for the new full flow filter. No more rock catcher as the 6.0 Trans filter was referred to.

I used to have a engine and tranny temp run close together now I have a true 14 degrees difference, I'm 180 trans/194 engine running empty at 70. Before the trans was 190 empty and the best thing you only add 2 quarts more

On my car I just change mine every 30k or about every 3ish years with the trans pan gasket and trans filter. Go back together with Mercon V fluid and Motorcraft filter. And I use the left over fluid to flush the power steering since its the same fluid on my old Crown Vic. I don't trust anyone else to do my transmission fluid service. Most cause I mess up my trans case threads for the pan bolts. 2 bolts are sort of stripped and I put in some standard bolts that at least thread into the case, those 2 bolts must go back into the same hole. Also on my old car it has a torque converter drain bolt so I can drain about another 8 quarts.

Didn't realize the days of the tranny fluid dipstick was gone too. Does the extra fluid capacity really serve a function? Or is it just that greater cooling area cooling more fluid? I mean it's still the same surface area. Doesn't really compute with me. You're still running through a cooler in the front. Seems to me that the same pan, just a little bit larger to clear the inner fins would work the same?

Love your channel but rarely see you use a torque wrench. I knew some mechs that could almost torque to the exact torque but having countless ford’s, they do have bolts that’ll break easily.

Just put my Pusher hot and cold side pipes on today and now this lol. I would probably benefit from this plowing. BTW my local dealer said that my 19 F350 (6 speed) the tranny oil didnt need replaced until 100k miles, is that right?

My last two trans oil changes (2021 F450 used for hotshot) resulted in overfill some how. Trans overheated and burped fluid out the vent. Anyone else experience this? Thoughts? First time happened work was performed by dealer. 2nd time by a reputable local tranny shop.

How much less road clearance does use of the PPE larger oil pan result in. Is there a factory skid plate that protects the stock transmission? if so, can it be re-ued with the bigger PPE pan? Lastly, where is the factory transmission temp sending unit. The PPE pan has a blank (or pre-threaded?) plug provision for a supplemental trans temp gauge. I assume that's overkill and the factory trans temp should still provide accurate readings? Nice job.

Good video, only criticism i have is when you were putting the trans filter bolts in you impacted them pretty hard. Torque spec is only 94 in lb and 106 in lb (for stud bolts). You can damage that trans if you go too hard because aluminum is soft but otherwise good vid

Considering this pan for 2022 F-350 dually with 6.7 as way to lower trans fluid temp. Seems to peak at 212F with no load at 75mph on flat highway with 60F ambient outside. Is 212F temp too high? Will pan lower that temp to below 200F? Maybe I am over-thinking. Another great vid, Arod. Thanks much.

I"m about to do this to my 22! Quick questions: 1. Hope many quarts did you end up putting back in? Trying to figure out how many quarts I should buy. 2. Can I just use the bolts that come from PPE to reinstall the pan? Do I need the factory bolts for the heat shield? Trying to figure out if I absolutely need to buy the extra bolts too.

I plan too. But I was wanting to get an idea on how many quarts you used so I make sure I have enough. And I guess the heat shield doesn’t get reused? Is that why you used the other bolts? I couldn’t tell from the video why you had to buy extra bolts. Thanks.
