"Forcing" or Succession Planting Lilies: Free & Paid Resources + Review of Lily Workshop

One of the top questions I get regularly is how to succession plant lilies. So in this video, I talk a bit about that but also give some more free and paid resources with a specific review of The Lily Workshop.

Summary
Henk Onings also did a ASCFG webinar on growing lilies. I didn’t get a chance to see it but Henk is a wealth of knowledge. I encourage you to reach out to bulb companies and your reps to get more info. Remember, they want to sell you bulbs so it’s in their best interest that they educate you on how to grow the stuff they sell so that they can sell you the product!

Ahhh I'm so sorry. I know how it is. It's getting bad for me to the point where I think I need to pull back growing them for next year :(

Great video, thank you. I am planning on trying succession planting next year. I'm in zone 4b so I am hoping to start my earliest ones in crates and move them in and out of my greenhouse to try and make Mother's Day. We shall see if it works!

Best of luck! Theoretically it should work. It's all about days to maturity and learning about that through experience!

Thank you for all your information. Did you also take the course of Liza Mason Ziegler ? (Or anyone else who is reading this) If so, what was your expierence with that course. I'm considering taking it.

I took Lisa's course in the fall of 2022. I think it was worthwhile because I was starting brand-new; I had grown vegetables for my family for a few years, but no flowers on even a small production scale. So there was a lot of information that I learned from the course and I wouldn't have gotten started without it. The cost was also not prohibitive for me, unlike some other courses out there. You also get access to the Facebook group which is helpful. Lisa also has a new book out that I've heard is very useful, although I haven't reviewed it myself. She has also started a monthly club, I think it's $20/month where she will share some 'master classes' on various topics. That could be a way to get an idea of what the full course might be like. I'm happy I took the course because, as I said, it got me started, and the resources have been very helpful.
