Edit: the out of bounds route for the third zone has been patched, and can no longer be done on live patch. Speedrun mods decided to just invalidate runs using the skip, which is atypical, but the game is in EA so eventually new content will make the current any% invalid anyways.
Rush mode doesn't lock you in to each room with enemies, so it's a lot more about getting the fastest upgrades early then just making direct lines to the exit. In order, I was most looking for x2.5 multiplier, 20% speed, and x2 multiplier decay. Ideally, you want to be at 2.5 multiplier at all times to go super speedily, the start of each level doesnt count for in game time so you can build up speed until you're at max before starting the timer. Thanks to .XIE for helping to discover what upgrades worked best, I was previously just resetting for 20% speed.
