Thank you for this video! I recently had to move into a campground, I noticed abundant fiddleheads around (though they're a bit different. These are hairy, no brown paper and the stems are round, unlike a celery) so I think my new hobby will be foraging and learning about wild edible plants. This is the first video I watched about it. So thanks!

This piqued my curiosity. What do fiddleheads taste like? I did some research and the do grow in northern Italy along waterways in shaded areas. Unfortunately, I live in central Italy where we do have ferns, but of a different variety. It's probably too hot here in this area for ostrich ferns. Thanks for the video, though, it was interesting!

Good evening alana. Nice video. Instead of waders or boots just take your shoes off and roll your pant legs up and go for it 😂🤣. Take care and have a blessed day and I'll see you on your next video.

Happy Sunday Billy! Thank you very much my friend...I definitely should have rolled up my pant legs...that is always much nicer and less stuff to carry to the river! 😄 Thank you for watching and I hope you have a lovely day! 🌺🌞

I'm wondering about drying them for preservation? Either in a regular dehydrator or freeze drying? What are your thoughts concerning this

Hi there...thank you very much for watching! I have never dried fiddleheads before but I've read that they are easily dehydrated. I've also read that blanching them for 2 minutes before drying, helps the fiddleheads retain their lovely colour and taste as well. I hope that helps! Take care and have a great evening!
