Forage harvesting with manure spreader. Small scale forage harvest

I had a dilemma on a budget when I realized my small scale farm needed a manure spreader and a forage wagon. I could only afford one this year and thats when I had the thought to use a manure spreader for both. This works awesome and I just unload forage by turning on the spreader! Pressure wash and disinfect when switching from manure to forage

Sweet dude! Ingenious! Did you ever determine the brand of the chopper? Would the livestock eat it directly unloaded without fermentation? Just curious because it looks pretty chopped up after it goes through the beaters. I ask because I know they won’t eat grass clippings from a mower. But I don’t know why they don’t? Seems like it would be easier eating!

I can not see any name stamp on the chopper; I think it will remain a mystery. As for livestock not eating grass clippings; there are different factors but the biggest one is many lawns are fescues which are toxic to many livestock. My sheep pigs and cows will it this straight from the field if its a crop they like. After this I hit a clover field. Its chopped so nice I need feed toffs not hat racks to feed it lol. Fermenting increases digestion and nutrient intake though.

My horses will only fight over grass clippings.
