Can I just say, as a pagan and not a christian, I love this band. I happen to like a lot of Christian bands. It doesn't take being christian to enjoy christian bands, singers, or music in general. And anyone who insults, whines, or complains about Christians believing in god is a load of bull. Christians have every right to believe in what they wish to believe in, just like everyone else. If it gives them hope and allows them to live believing that there is good in the world why stop them? As long as they aren't hurting anyone why the hell does it matter?

+Marchel Tyler it does not allow us to believe there is good in the world, rather the opposite, true biblical christianity recognizes the opposite, just goes to show your ignorance towards the faith. we are all sinners, and are in need of a savior. as a pagan you will not find that savior, he may masquerade as a savior though. 14No wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. 15Therefore it is not surprising if his servants also disguise themselves as servants of righteousness, whose end will be according to their deeds.

Not my King. However I dig not only the sound but also the no holds harred message that they bring to tableb I was raised in Church but due to events that were, to say the very least, we were absolutely unfair and a betrayal of all a Believer is told shall be theirs just for believing in Him. I lost everything! My wife, (suicide: she was tired. Getting ready eaten alive by dialysis while dying of kidney failure), my son(my dad taking opportunity to stab me in the back as only he can, while sitting in 'his house' which was mine by Right according to the Trust he forged my name to release it from to purchase it), my sanity (see how stable you remain when you watch your wife deteriorate to the point of suicide) my sobriety (5 years out the window; I graduated from spoons to ladles within the first month on top of finishing off a fifth to a liter every night for a time), and above all, I lost myself. I will NOT be searching for answers in the Christian thought. I will acknowledge that there is truly a higher power, but instead of a creation of this Source; I am an extension. Therefore I am Source itself! A godlike being who has the power to take life and shape it as I see see fit from now on.

,@@misfitcrow3350 I never grew up in the church. However, it took me about 10 years to decide to get baptized. I was introduced to Jesus at the age of 20, and frankly, I found Jesus hard to believe in. It's not enough for a person to simply believe in Christ to be saved, they must repent and abide in Christ. And once a believer is born again in the Spirit of Christ, then they need to maintain and work at their salvation for the rest of their lives. not only that, they need to learn to discern the will of God and be obedient to Him. This obedience shouldn't be a burden, in fact, God will bless those greatly who act in obedience and not rebelliousness. If salvation were a coin, repentance would be one side, and faith would be the other. The only way God will forgive us is if we repent (turn away from) our sins and have a change of mind and heart. How could we ignore the Son of Man who died an atoning sacrificial death on our behalf of us for our sins? Jesus bore the full weight of God's wrath to save us. How could we ignore that calling? Sadly many are called, but few are chosen. I am very sorry these bad experiences have happened to you and made you bitter toward the church. I have had a rocky, bumpy and painful life too. But I also have much to be grateful for. Certainly, my brain is damaged, but the Lord still gave me His Spirit to do things that require a good mind for the Word of God, and to have a relationship with Him, not just be legalistic. Growing up in a legalistic church or being raised by parents who are legalistic Christians can certainly hurt someone too. I am a recovering drug addict and I was diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder. I'm in no way trying to one-up you. I have had 6 psychosis and 6 concussions, and I have been hospitalized about 6 times in the psych ward with my last hospital stay 3 months long. My dad passed away last year from cancer as well. Just know that the church isn't full of bad eggs. Yes, there certainly are some, especially the wolves in sheep's clothing that Jesus warned us about, which give real Christians a bad name sometimes; who get a lot of their knowledge from God and seek to live in peace and love. they are on a sanctification journey with the Holy Spirit dwelling in them, leading them home to a lasting life and to Jesus. I wish you the best!

@@swalls92 I may have misread this but you said "they need to maintain and work "at" their salvation for the rest of their lives." We are saved by grace through faith and NOT by works. Abraham had something to boast about but not before God. Its grace that saved us and not of ourselves. Thats why its amazing. Thats why I go through each day feeling undeserving and saddened by the fact that I can't do anything and it makes me love Him more and its just hard to understand that love. I can't wait to fall on my face in His presence. I still don't understand how we can Boldly come to the throne.

The song wouldn't be the same without him. Kick-ass song. Seriously, they did an AMAZING JOB with this song. ABSOLUTE MASTERPIECE

Ignore the trolls, my brothers and sisters. You're not going to get through to anyone over the internet. Anyone who enjoys listening to Christian music should know better than to look at the comments on KZread videos... And, after all, if they say they don't like it so much, why are they still here bothering to comment on it? :\ In other news, this band never ceases to blow me away. They are the guys who got me into listening to this genre in the first place. It's so great to be able to listen to heavy music like this without having to worry about the song's message being something evil that I don't want to be listening to!

Forevertoss There are tons of good Christian metal bands out there like For Today and Becoming the Archetype. My recommendation would be to check out: War of Ages August Burns Red Sleeping Giant Wolves at the Gate Demon Hunter Living Sacrifice -A Plea for Purging- -Underoath- Oh, Sleeper Fit for a King Impending Doom The Devil Wears Prada Love and Death The Overseer ...just to name a few. :-) Hope you like at least one of these bands! *Strikethrough means they're no longer a band.

I'm 24 years old now and I can tell that more than half of you know loneliness. Read what I tell you, the only answer for the loneliness that you may be aware of is Worship. Worship in the name of Jesus Christ. Materialism will never do it except make it worse, what you need is an appreciation love that forever lives with gratitude. You know as well as I do that even if your surrounded by people you can still be lonely. It can be found only in worship, do so in spirit also meaning freedom and in truth. You want to break the cycle? Worship is your war ship.

First test of truth is down. But the next 2 are not answered, see all I have to do is ask "why was he born then?" If so, what relation does he have with me? 3 tests of Jesus Christ, logical consistency, Empirical Adequacy and Experiential relevance. Many people are attracted to Satan through "spirituality" or "spiritual phenomina."

Very good point, how do we worship where as Islam or Judaism? Your listening to the Christian group of For Today. Now don't get confused with being entertained or good theology as worship. See, the lonely person wants a certain kind of gratification love. One that is a constant. When you apply that to people they kind of get sick of you. But with God, that changes everything. You can say that For Today is worshipping in this, if you want to, look up Trinitarian worship. It's utterly brilliant.

Lyrics What have we done What have we become Broken mirror reflecting only darkness Destructive vision and closed of hearts We turn our face away from those we're set to love But now I hear your voice Calling me back home It isn't over yet Bringing hope into our hopelessness Turning hearts from stone to flesh It's the blind, leading the blind, leading the blind to tIt's the blind, leading the blind, leading the blind to their demise It's the blind, leading the blind, leading the blind to their demise Break the cycle! Break the cycle! Break the cycle! [Verse 1: Mattie Montgomery] Self-destruction has tainted our way of life It's time to break the cycle In the darkness of fear, there's a dawning light It's time to break the cycle We stumble around and fall to the ground But are we too proud to reach out To reach for a hand that can help us to stand And keep us from falling facedown? We're only helpless, because we're heartless [Pre-Chorus: Mattie Montgomery, Ryan Leitru] In a world headed for self-destruction The answer is here; are we too blind to see it? In a world headed for self-destruction The answer is here; are we too blind to see it? There is hope in the blood! [Chorus: Mattie Montgomery, Matty Mullins] Rise up, there's a new day dawning We'll see the darkness flee Rise up, there's a new day dawning In which the blind will see! I see a light in the darkness, rising in the night I see a light in the darkness, in the sons of light [Verse 2: Mattie Montgomery] Bring this broken system to its knees! Bring this broken system to its knees! Break the cycle! Break the cycle! I've been to a lot of shows in Nashville but hardly anyone can match the energy these dudes bring to the stage, it's so intense that I'm talking waves of people behind my friends and I trying to break through our human chain rushing towards the stage when the songs hit their hardest. I may not be a man of faith of any kind but what these fellas make people feel live is just shy of a miracle. Edit: I honestly forgot I made this comment but through christ I've found a whole new well spring of perseverance and strength not just in body but in spirit, he is the wind beneath my wings and the light that makes the path clear i no longer live in fear but in faith. I'm in tears as I write this because I know this to be true.

What makes the guys so good is their not afraid to preach the gospel to a crowd of people that want no part in hearing it, but in doing so save so many lives. They see whats going on and are clearly pissed about it. DONT BE AFRAID TO BREAK THE CYCLE.

What have we done? What have we become? A broken mirror reflecting only darkness. Disrupted visions and closed off hearts; We've turned our face away from those we're sent to love. But now I hear your voice calling me back home. It isn't over yet. Bringing hope into our hopelessness; Turning hearts from stone to flesh.

I love this song so much. The meaning is so deep, raw, and real. This song goes hard while it cuts some deep truth.
