This was actually my first car. Bought a used 69 in 1978 for $1500. Loved the front wheel drive in the winter. Car was a tank. Great car.

When I saw The Eldorado without heeding front headlights and taillights and the balance of its body design it became another love affair!!! 50 years later to this day I still can not get enough of the beauty of this car!absolutely stunting❤️ By the way I had no clue about it’s mechanics, back then! I was only a 10 years old dreamer 😀

Hi Tim, when your Eldorado was new, I was in middle school and my home city only provided school buses to white neighborhoods - all us black kids were expected to walk to school. The result was years of perfect car spotting and the Eldorado was an interesting case. The 1967-1968 Eldorado with it's hidden headlamps was an occasional sight on my daily walks to school. But when the 1969 Eldorado debuted with exposed headlamps, sales took-off like a rocket as the 1969 Eldorado was Everywhere! Could it have been the most beautiful face of any Cadillac, ever?

Beautiful car. from a time when designers were less limited in bringing their designs to reality.... due to not as complicated safety standards for bumpers, etcetera.

They came with one mirror only usually...so if you needed a right side then that was an aftermarket one... By the way the left rear light is broken...other than that it is really a great find and underpriced... ...the issue is the spare parts and mechanics to fix it...for example torsion bar front suspension...transmission and FWD drive axels...
