Honestly as funny as Satch is and how much I love these videos, EA really shouldn't be able to get away with this. If this was any other game franchise the fan base would be revolting

The Sims fanbase is extremely gullible and exploited to the max because there's a lot of folks in there who don't play anything else. Therefore the lack of competition basically makes them ignore all the shit. Sure, they might complain but they still buy everything EA releases which is why nothing changes. If they actually had some alternative life sims, maybe they wouldn't be such toddler-like sheep who keep squealing whenever EA dangles some "new shinies" before their eyes.

Or modders. They care more and clearly have more sense. For rent is so trashy I find it worse than wedding stories. Wedding stories is broken but they at least tried to make it fun (they failed) but with this one they did literally nothing. They didn’t even bother coming up with anything fun. It doesn’t matter if it works because the design is so bad it’s trash

Does anyone remember when you would play the old sims games. Any of the three. And random stuff would happen leaving you scratching your head, or in laughter. But it was intentional, and just a fun part to the game. We don’t get that with sims 4. The only random stuff that happens is unintentional, and frustrating 🤣

My sims 3 had a bunch of cheating husbands 😂 I come back there is a new baby in the household and it’s by a whole different mom lol then the wife wouldn’t feed the baby nothing and just be mad and die from angry. I miss old sims

For how man Bars and Lounges they place in this game, ordering a drink should be the EASIEST thing to do. Sims just constantly get stuck in loops of sitting and standing. I wish I could blame it one MODS or CC bugs, but it never download any. This game is so broken entirely on its own.

Most of the mods I downloaded into my game are only there just to fix the game because the modders usually have the bug fixes before EA does.

I find it refreshing to see a honest Sims playthrough.

girl I could code the sims 4 with no coding knowledge and THAT would have fewer glitches than what the EA put out these days...

being a dev for this game seems like hell. just from these videos i can tell this game has tech debt not just all the way back from 2014, but probably all the way back from ts2/3 still leftover... and you're expected to make everything work lmao

Literally, and I don't blame the game devs. It feels like they're put on such tight deadlines that neither the artists, developers, etc. get to really finish anything.

Satch: I feel like these events aren't happening often enough to feel as a proper career My sim, who rented out ONE house, taking care of maintenance events on DAILY basis: *dies of electrocution trying to fix a fridge* 😂

I get sick of the sims 4 and went back to the sims 2, i don't regret it at all

Don't get vacation rentals yet because that is a future money grab i mean expansion

ive developed a love for shanice. shes so.... weird. i love it. i had a ton of properties, i was getting rent, but i never ONCE got a tenant issue, no revolts, no maintence events. i had upgraded all the appliances at water heater, electric panel etc. so i tried to do it without upgrading anything, and still never got any events. not event charity events. i was annoyed. but i was getting my rent. 77k a week total at one point. ive noticed tho, if a tenant moves out, the rental sticks , i cant evict, i cant rerent, nothing, its just unoccupied , i wait for the lease to run out, still doesnt reset. i sell the prop, itll reset a week or two later so ill rebuy it and the same thing will happen again. its annoying as hell. shrug, ive given upp. deleted all my for rent saves and will start with an old game and have one rental for my 30 million descendants lol EDIT: i got my rentals up to 1.4 million a week, and still nothing, HOWEVER, the game was SO laggy, it threw off the time, so, kids were being summoned to school at like 9 instead of 8 etc.. everything just shifted by like an hour. it also, lagged ALL my other save files. i ened up deleting that save and magically, my game works, altho my time is still off, by about 30 sim minutes. i started a new file as a tenant, all the events are occurring. also, horses and i while they are fun... dear god they are lag monsters and so damn needy, lol the game is broken but cheats are your friend :)

@stmsin lol...completely unbelievable since the BASE GAME is bugged...so everything put on top of it, is bugged. At least they could have come up with a plausible lie. Zero bugs...yeah right...lol

Honestly Satch should just name this a "Let's test" not a "Let's Play" because so far there's been more bugs and glitches than actual gameplay, it's just Satch's humor carrying the whole thing. No way this pack went through testing or quality control, I would be so embarrassed of such a product if I were one of the sims developers like I'd literally resign to save my dignity especially if this wasn't their fault and it was some bad management from higher ups. This faulty pack ? in the year of 2023 ? with TONS of indie developers coming up with smoother-running games with less of a budget ? shameful.

I couldn’t play two days ago and then there was an update. I was able to play again and now my tenants walk into my unit constantly. To steal my food, use my computer and use my toilet. One hangs out in the bathroom talking to himself in my mirror. The lock options on the doors don’t work. They send home option wasn’t available so I had to go under the mean option and say go away. Just a mess

They are walking up to my unit about to piss themselves and using my toilet. Over and over even if they just peed and just stole my food they come right back

After the new patch and the game came out, I haven't been able to build a house or buy and place furniture, this especially applies to houses taken from the gallery. I don't have mods or CC, so that problem occurs is incomprehensible. I've done everything a player can do, and I've tried to report this, but EA the sims 4 bug report is so messy that it's impossible to submit a report or find it again once you've submitted it. EA should clean up their forum, be more helpfulle to the players and fix the games before they release anything more for The Sims 4.

I can play everything but not the rent-thing. In build-mode I have no drop-down-menus and I cannot choose anything or get a fresh appartment, I have no gameplay at all. I checked my MCCC and the UI mod (the only mods I use) but there is no newer version than mine. I try for a few days now with the EA Help support but they constantly write me sh***. It's totally annoying. 😠

Recommendation: download UI cheats so you can just right click on the objectives instead of having to type it in.

Literal meaning: "A potluck is a communal gathering where each guest or group contributes a different, often homemade, dish of food to be shared." The event is broken. One of the requirements is to complement someone on the dish they brought. As far as the rent goes, he clearly shows the amilbox requiring an outrageous amount to be paid and threatening drop downs when he could not pay it. It then was fixed in the last patch, which he ALSo states. If you are going to comment on someone's video, maybe listen to it first and stop defending EA. All but sims 1(which EA had nothing to do with) has had game breaking issues which were never fixed.

Why are there no cross-pack unit restrictions other than cats and dogs? Seeing as there's a 'no ghosts' restriction, it would make sense if you could ban all other occults too. Get some spicy occult-phobia going on; that could make for some interesting storytelling!

Max limit is a unit rule, if your unit goes over the occupancy limit you will be breaking the rule. I would really love it if she keeps Tax Credit 2, but if you have a limit of two people, the baby can't stay---or Chantel. I wonder if the mold is having an effect on Shanice?? If that happens then I don't know what will happen.

Honestly one of the bugs i had was if i had a infant in a rental unit and the infant just glitched and woudnt do anything, the infant was just lying on the ground, but it said she was at daycare, then my got a phone call from the infant.

You can purchase vacation rentals that aren’t in the vacation worlds. Just got to build mode on the lot and switch it to residential and then the actual price of the property will show and you can purchase it. I switched all rental lots to residential because otherwise it’s just wasted land like who goes on vacation besides my sims.. 🙄

So glad I’m not the only one that, for some reason, build/buy mode causes my game to stutter but then going to the save menu and back fixes it 😅 Been going on for a while for no reason.

21:21 this has been happening for me too. Every time I get this event either it just doesn't finish after repairing everything or there are objects i can't repair because my sim thinks they can't reach it. It's super annoying

You know, sometimes I hate being poor and miserly. I miss ALL of the chaos of new packs waiting for them to be half off or better. 😆

This is why I had a freelance career. The painting one specifically. I could carry my sketch pad with me and whenever something did go wrong, granted, not much. I could just take my job to the rentals with me and do both at the same time. As for sims 4 in general, I’ve watched several of your videos now, and I’m starting to think maybe playing with mods is looking like the way to go. I have zero on right now, but it might spice gameplay up because it’s getting boring now. Which are the best mods that you recommend and where can I get them? 👍

There’s currently a survey you can access when you load the game, ‘share your thoughts’, will they listen? No. But at least they have the writing on the wall.

Ok.. so there was a storm and a powersurge and alot of my sims items were broken... the tv, the stereo and the refrigerator... so I called the landlord to take care of it and he shows up, fixes the refrigerator and then fines me for the pile of trash HE dropped on the floor from fixing the refrigerator! Storms out crying about the mess HE made and leaves! TV and stereo are still broken. So, for EA standards, the pack is working as intended... idk

This pack is so bad they need to get sue, everyone mass report to better business bureau

I wish they would fix the lag on PlayStation and the party or social events for island living .

Maybe in your experience kids did that, but if I put my toys outside of my bedroom they would disagree, so I kept my toys in my room to protect my things🤷‍♀️

I feel ya! My parents gave us a playroom to keep our toys in and they were not allowed out of the playroom. Every once in a while I’d take my toys out of the playroom and leave them around the house and my mom would have me collect them and bring them back to the playroom lol. I have seen plenty of houses irl with toys scattered around though. I suppose it just depends on the family!

I had to temporarily excommunicate the pack because it wasn't just crashing but corrupting the entire save (3 times😡) when sims travel. Idk may add it back when it isn't on fire and rolling down hill

Clearly you never went to university in Florida! Ours nearly had a student revolt on its hands and some nasty published opinion pieces on the handling of mold there. Appalled at the way they were built and then the way it was handled still, some 15 years later.
