I think it’s human nature to be scared of pointy objects. I think I’m able to get over that fear and vaccinate but MY GOD sometimes it’s difficult not to wanna scream when looking at the needle (which somehow doesn’t hurt) get pushed through your skin…

The SARS-Cov-2 virus which causes COVID-19 uses a specialized glycoprotein or sugar based protein on its surface to bind to a special locked entrance on the surface of the cell it targets. The virus targets the *Type-2* *Alveolar* *Cells* in the lungs. The Type-2 Alveolar cells are responsible for primarily 3 things *(1)* - Producing surfactant which lubricates the lung tissue to prevent it from sticking together when you exhale thus leading to lung collapse. This is why you need a ventilator in worse cases because ventilators force air into collapsed but not perforated lungs. *(2)* - Protect the type-1 alveolar cells which carry oxygen from your lungs to your blood *(3)* type-2 alveolar cells become type-1 cells if needed. The SARS-Cov-2 virus uses its *S-Spike* glycoprotein to bind to the ACE2 receptor on the surface of the type-2 alveolar cells in the lungs. Once inside, the virus releases its mRNA to the ribosomes in the cells. The ribosomes takes the mRNA instructions and uses it to pull together the amino acids to create the parts of the virus. Those parts are assembled and then the virus buds out of the cell to go and infect other cells. *The* *vaccine* causes your cells to produce a version of the S-Spike that is similar to the one on the surface of the virus. The S-Spike becomes the thing that triggers the immune response. When the body responds to a viral invasion the first thing it does is determine specifically what the invader is. Then your *B-Lymphocytes* produce *Antibodies* Antibodies typically don't eradicate viruses. In some cases they do but not typically. There's *Contracting* a virus and then there is *Infection* from a virus. Contraction is the virus being in your body. Infection is the virus entering the cell to replicate itself. The antibodies stick to the outside of the S-Spike which would normally be on the virus. The antibodies tell your cells not to let the virus bind and enter. This is how the body stems the *INFECTION* part only. You can still contract the virus, but you can't become infected by it with antibodies stuck to them. Ultimately the body later produces *Killer* *T-cells.* Killer T-cells actually eradicate viruses. You see the antibodies don't just scream to your cells to not let the virus in, it also lazes the target so to speak for the killer T-cells. What do you think the killer t-cells will do when it encounters your cells throughout your body which have these spikes budding from them? the T-cells will interpret them as invaders and attack them. When Killer T-cells or any other immune cell mis-interprets and attacks the body's own cells, this is called *Auto-Immune* *Disorder.* It is literally a malfunction of the detection process used by the immune system where the body's own cells are seen as invaders and treated accordingly.

I have had both doses of the Oxford vaccine, one being 3 weeks ago. Unfortunately, I tested positive for coronavirus four days ago. I do have symptoms like a heavy cold but hopefully, I can ride it out. Thank God for the NHS in the UK.

For all people with needle phobia or who are scared to take a shot : I had just taken my vaccine today and it felt great to know I had an extra layer of protection against COVID. When the Needle was injected I had almost felt nothing. The doctor just told me to relax my arm and look elsewhere. Right now I feel great, the area where I took the vaccine is a little sore but I'm glad I took it. 😊

I got my J&J vaccine 3 weeks ago and it hurt just the slightest bit. No real side effects except for some slight arm and neck pain. The more people vaccinated, the closer we can reach herd immunity.

There have been numerous clinical trials done that prove the vaccines are all effective at BOTH preventing COVID infection and also minimizing symptoms in the UNLIKELY event that you catch it after vaccinated. Experts predict that the more people vaccinated actually will bring us closer to herd immunity. But with morons and anti vaxxers like you, it’s going to be a stretch to ever get to that 70% we need vaccinated. You can choose to argue with a scientist in the field. And you’ll fail miserably.

I graduated medical assistant in 2015.... this RN is slow getting shot ready, I hate a needle exposed because bacteria can easily rest on bay....and how will you place a bandaid on the glove?. @@kyleerivera3087 Hello I am back and vaccinated :) Honestly, the needle looks big but it went into my arm for about 1 second, and I didn't feel a thing. My arm only hurt afterwards and not that bad at all. I also haven't had any side effects, feeling the same as I did before the vaccine. In my opinion there's no need to worry and if you do want it I really recommend just getting it over with 😊 I hope this helped a little.

The length used on 99% of adults and children over 12 is 1 inch, which might seem long but it does not get anywhere near the bone and there are no structures where it is given. The trick is to just relax and not care. If you do that, you will feel them put the bandaid on more than the injection. No, it does NOT hurt.

What about size of needle, amt. of saline injected into vial, total amt given to client

Needle is 1 inch 23 to 25 gauge and about .3 or .5 ml is injected, so 1/3 to 1/2 of a milliliter.

I got my first dose today and it really wasn’t bad. It felt like a tiny prick, although I got really scared and basically started hyperventilating, my parents had to hold me in my chair.

@@ivorytower99 In many of the news stories were they are showing people being vaccinated, the needles being used mostly appear to be 21, or 22 gauge some 20 gauge, (you can tell by the color of the hub, yellow, 20 gauge, gray, 21 gauge, blue, 22 gauge, orange, 25 gauge), and 1 1/2 or 2 inches long, :Pretty standard for vaccines given as deep intramuscular injections.

Student nurse here! We inject air into the vials because it creates pressure, so when we flip the vial to suck up all the medicine into the syringe it goes in much easier. It helps ensure that all of the medication is taken up into the syringe out of the vial. Say the vial has 2mL of fluid, we will suck up 2mL of air into the syringe and then push that into the vial, keep the plunger down and pull the needle into the liquid, and the pressure now helps push all of the liquid into the syringe :) hope this helped!

Do you know what a period is? A period, in fact, is a thing we use for punctuation! You put it at the end of a sentence. It seems so wildly impossible to imagine that the people still willfully in a comatose state after a year of this insanity... will ever wake up. I don't know what to think any more... Sometimes I'm certain it's all a mass awakening happening at turtle-speed, and all is perfect; divine timing. Other times... watching zombies in masks, salivating with excitement over the mark of the beast... that's when I lose my ability to hold on to hope... (I also heard David icke speak in an interview about the coming of 6g and 7g! How will humanity survive that?)
