That happens to me a lot playing cent in dom, getting into a 1v1, and before I can finish them they take off. Good video man

Reworked Cent is basically hyperarmor-less hitokiri and worse. Especially when the opponent can just back dodge roll on reaction to your unblockables.

TheFrazeCraze say they back dodged on uncharged jab, since the charged jab tracks forward far, wouldn’t feinting that and guard breaking still work to catch the roll?
8:20 Centurion's kick and heavy finisher being launched 200ms later is so they're not confirmed after throws and parry counters anymore.

Warlord? Offensive momentum? *Is it April already?*
he's a gladiator, one of the most skilled warriors in a 1v1 scenario...what he does? spams lights and toe stab. bruh, ubi has no clue wtf to do with an interesting hero. it's all bash and faster attacks with a sprinkle of HA on it

Holy shit that is a god-tier Thumbnail lol gg
Its a big sad that there is no custom 1s 1nd 4s
So I'll start off by saying I'm not the best for honor player and I've yet to even touch the testing grounds because OCE is dead but I figured I'd give my two cents on these changes. Starting with Cent: I like these changes, quick throw wasn't very useful and I have no idea how they would make it useful and letting him jab from a light is great. I feel like 17 damage from a light opener is a bit much, I'd rather they reduce the opener light damage to 15. In regards to his difficulty with chasing people down, I agree and it's something I noticed a lot of characters struggle with, I feel like changing his forward dodge heavy to be feintable like Aramusha's would be a good point to start with, or maybe increasing the distance of his kick like you suggested as it is very lackluster. It might be a bit much but maybe letting kick wallsplat again could be an ok change now as he's no longer guaranteed his full cutscene off of one heavy, although if they do that they should move the cancel window into a heavy later into the move so he doesn't get a pin off it. Onto Glad: Overall I think they're ok changes, the reflex guard buff is a godsend and now he has usable lights. Seeing as Glad isn't an overly stamina intensive hero I'd like to see him get more opportunities to use his stamina, maybe give him access to skewer after a feinted heavy. Also give his dodge attacks some goddamn i-frames. And for Warlord: His changes ultimately feel like they do very little for him, sure he can access the second hit of his two hit chain much easier now because of enhanced lights but it's still a 2 attack chain that 's not very threatening and his other offensive tool, headbutt is very limiting. The early hyper-armour in his chain heavies also not really change he needed and I agree it's not very smart design, using hyper-armour should be a premeditated decision with a big payoff, not a deterrent with a big payoff if they're not scared of you. I think they should let him chain into heavy finishers after headbutt's followup and let him go into fullblock after chain finishers. They should also give him more freedom from fullblock, if he had access to his headbutt from fullblock stance he could threaten people with both the headbutt unblockable and the undodgeable heavy.
Honestly something I've thought would be a major part of fixing Glad would be to just give him a constant passive Haymaker. Instead of being a feat just let him always have it. It completely fits his design, he's literally meant to be a bully and focus on his punches, so a haymaker would compliment that. Plus a problem with his dodge bashes is they aren't really a punish for things cause they don't confirm any damage. If he has haymaker now they are actually a punish for certain things and lets him have a dodge attack that can punish certain moves with HA. His overall DPS is not that high so it wouldn't be broken for him to be doing 10 damage on bashes. The other things I'd like to see for him is to have his zone be sped up by 100ms, better recoveries on dodge attack/bash and dash attack/bash and his toe stab, let him chain a bash after a heavy to make him more mixup intensive, increase the damage on his dodge attack, and make his heavy finishers do 35 damage instead of their current 30, and maybe let him chain bamboozle from his sprinting attack even if it lands or is blocked instead of just when it misses.
Best part of this video is the hitokiri segment, I’m wheezing
Glad needed that buff 😭
Glad def needs more
For WL I'd say give him some sort of shield bash combo like heavy or light follow up able to soft feint into shield bash jab and feint-able full block heavy (just regular feint or into shield bash soft feint). Give him something lol....

Hero design review sounds like an interesting series
Talks about cents chase issues. Cent trying desperately to keep up with a shinobi.
Early hyper armor in chain isn't too bad, because it rewards getting to the later attacks of your chains, which involves actually committing to attacks. Similar to things like Raider's chained unblockable zone or Black Prior's chained bash. The biggest issue I see are things like Hitokiri's early hyper armor from neutral, like you said. Being able to press heavy on a red indicator and not have a care in the world thanks to variable timing and extremely early hyper armor is not thoughtful and just hurts the offense of any characters that do not have strong neutral bash pressue.
As a person who has been a Gladiator main since season 3, the comments made by Craic in this video about Gladiator are spot on and have mirrored my own thoughts about the character post season 3.

Idk of it's just me or my bum ass control, but it feels like cents lights are like...a little delayed? Might just be me

You weren't staggered. That was punch recovery time that killed you bruh
The 300ms GB vulnerbility before the strike is indeed a nerf. Its basically 300ms GB vulnerbility on his uncharged heavy. Also the 300-500ms charge up change not only affects the variability, but also the speed of his heavy. His uncharged heavy is now 700ms chargable to 900ms, instead of 600ms chargable to 1000ms. Also since you ask, I can agree with hyperarmor being kind of overdone in alot of cases(hito heavy starter 300ms, raider finisher 100ms) but in the case of a finisher heavy, I do think 300ms is a fair number. For example, you would try to chain heavy when someone would dodge attack your first attack, but it wouldnt trade. No matter if you chose to not heavy you wouldve lost HP without counterplay. With this change however, this may not be a problem. Also Im pretty sure it used to be 500ms HA startup rather than 400ms iirc. As for neutral heavy Im okay with it being the way it is now at 600ms as you should definetly have an easy time just throwing a neutral heavy in response to an indicator.

Glad needs some more love. Toe stab is a 600ms bash that if dodged guarantees a gb, even to an oos hero. All this for 10 damage. Plus his dodge attacks and bashes are so bad
@diamondhuntet9879
4 жыл бұрын
I mean, against an OOS opponent, you're getting punished a light for the potential of 40 damage. I'd rather he be able to chain off a missed toe stab, so then there's the mindgame of "punish with a GB or parry the follow-up?"

From what I’ve seen glads rework looks to be the best but I’ve noticed that it’s back to constant toe stabs super safe zone lights and punches feels like I’m back in season 3
I've been told, cent's kick can punish backdodge and roll
As a rep 63 cent i was ready for the changes in the testing ground. The ideas behind his rework seem good with but the way its in the game right now its a extremely hard nerf. Low damage on every parry, increased heavy time meaning that if someone feints and you did a heavy they gb you. Wallsplats are bugged, range is almost non-existent, even worse than before. Nothing changed about the kick as well. Everyone else backdodges him anyway. He feeds a lot of revenge and does't interrupt it so its worse. The zone is feintable but now deals 17 dmg (wow). Literaly a worse hito or warden.
@ItsNotMyWallet

Rep 47 cent here. Completely agree. I know all his moves to the ms. My muscle memory is tossed when I play this rework. Everything is off and they threw away the interesting parts of his kit just to make his jab cancel to a gb. He's clunky and slow plus wall throw combos are a joke as well not that it matters if you land it anymore. Pretty dissatisfied myself.
They reworked cent to be more spammer at punches and removed all heavy combos like parry counter in to lights It kinda sucks. I liked the cutscene

Parry counter nerf is just sad. An i feel, that kinda unnecessary with all other changes. Oh well.
Why cent hasn't hyper armor on fully charged punch like Warden? It's the same, they can just cancel it with light. Why cent hasn't hyper armor on heavies? Like Hito? Cent is worse Hito now. You know, attack and punch, attack and kick. Timming heavies, you know, it's the same. Why all of viking without huge armor (just some clothes) have hyper armor on attacks? Why fuking knights with huge armom hasn't? I don't get this.
