This really points out that the Knights want peace. But they think that you get peace from war. The Vikings think war is for survival. And the Samurai fight to protect their dying culture.

And what’s worse? These songs play only when they are making their last stand. Take this song. This is the knights last stand in their walled city. One step away from their kith and kin being slaughtered by the invaders. It gives the song the sense that, the city is singing. Not just the men here. The city itself feels to come alive in the commanders courtyard. For one last stalwart Defense. For all they ever wanted was peace

@@wardenstone6021 It really is, the Hymn of the Walled City. God I love when For Honor is deep. More and more recently we've seen the factions in the lore want to stop the fighting. At this point none of them want to anymore, they're tired, old, or sick. Every attempt at peace is followed with a massacre. For Honor lore is underappreciated, it's so grim with you look farther into the story.

@@theonlyMoancore Ubisoft just simply never does themselves any favours when it comes to their game's lore of atmosphere. I suppose its one of the many failings of live service like Siege or FH, but they just seem to have lost what I loved so much about the game

Due to the tone and lyrics of the track (mostly this part: 1:34), I feel as if the Knights acknowledge how war can be a destructive and dreadful force, maybe even sorrowful, and yet its presence is inevitable when it comes to achieving peace (2:31 - 3:10). And that's why I love this one the most above the rest

Realistically many nations in the medieval times understood war was coming eventually. Somewhere, someone was preparing to fight, so they would always be ready. This hymn really captures that.

This makes the Knights seem really good-guy-ish.

Iron legion are the good ones. Vikings are just dicks who rather raid then integrate into civilized society and the samurai are neutral

I like how the knights don't seem to want to actually take the lands of the Vikings nor the Samurai but instead they just want to protect their own

(I'm a video game lore nut, here we go) Well, the knights seem to have come from the south and taken most of the land from the Warborn and driven them north. So I suppose you could say they already did take Viking land. Then again, that was ages ago, when the empire that Centurions come from were expanding I suppose, so I doubt anyone even remembers that. As for the Samurai, absolutely nobody wants to live in The Myre. It's constantly changing, it's humid, probably bugs everywhere, Even the samurai don't build permanently because of that. I just think they don't inhabit elsewhere because that would require warring with either the Warborn or the Legions, and given the small numbers samurai have, that would be suicide. So currently, as it stands, as of the current day in whatever they live in. I guess, yeah. Probably.

Can you blame them? The knights as a faction are in the shadow of the Blackstones, and that's all the other factions see. I mean fr, the vikings and samurai allied to attempt to bring down the knights once and for all at the Battle of Etrivatnen, except they LOST, BAD. The Wu Lin almost became a dedicated faction but then the Battle of Qiang Pass happened and the Wu Lin were wiped out. The Battle of Storr Stronghold and the Shard were both times the knights fought purely out of want for peace. Only to be fought off by the Vikings and be betrayed by the other two factions in the Shard (at least how they saw it). It's really heartbreaking.

I mean, as far as I know, the "Viking's" chant alludes to them being Christianized, but the Knight's reference Gods, but outside of that no specific entity except "Deus Vult", I'm no Latin expert but Deus Vult isn't really that specific of a phrase either it seems. Which "Deus" are they referring to?

This may be unintentional, but I love how through 1:50-2:20 it seems like the Knights are saddened or sickened by the war Like "I can't believe there is a war happening". But when they say "Si vis pacem para bellum" they realize this is the only way peace will be able to be achieved is if they fight so their morale through the song gets a huge boost

The "less than" and "greater than" keys (or the comma and period keys) can move a video frame by frame. That way you can just pause a video and move it frame by frame whenever you see something like this.

Technically they all (except maybe for vikings) want peace, but none of the sides trust each other enough to make an alliance. This can be seen in For Honor's story mode cinematic trailer.

Some assistance please Well, technically the Vikings don’t want peace cause that means they can’t raid. The Samurai don’t either since they moved into Ashfeld to take over the Knights. Same with the Wu Lin, the only faction who wants actual peace is the Knights cause it’s THEIR homeland who has been invaded by everyone since they had the most recourses. Which is why they are able to forge their armor. You can figure that out in the campaign.

Lobo Cruzado Yes, cause the Vikings invaded and made the knights rally to defend their homelands cause invaders entered which caused Apollyon to amass a large following. If they had never invaded Apollyon would of never had the Knights band together, “butterfly effect.”

Bello is the dative, or giving case. It's the word you would say if you were to say something was for something else, so it means "for war." Belli is the genitive or possessive case, so it would be "of war"

Finally, I know what there saying the whole time

I really think the devs at Ubisoft should implement more story themes,as in badass music to get you pumped up for the fight, and maybe some talking between oppenents but in real time language like English or Chinese. And moves for some heroes, Apollyn can charge her heavies and general tozo can do a unblockable kick to the floor, and the wolf chieftain can bear hug to break their backs. All these moves could be in the mulitplayer, warden, orochi, and Warlord could all have their moves from the main story.
