Looks good. Next time you service the bridge or on a next one keep gaps between baords so they would have space to move when contracting and expanding. Will be in good shape for longer then.

Those few screws wouldn't help much if it wouldn't be self supporting. He would need a lot more supports and screws to make more traditional construction bridge. I would say it's still self supporting frame in general. You can say those screws are just an insurance so that none of the members would slip
