My favorite goalkeeper growing up. I idolized him very much. I use to even wear those iconic Reebok gloves he used. He won everything there was to win. Champions league, euro, World Cup, euro again. Certainly the biggest trophies in football

Casillas was one of the most phenomenal goalkeepers in the history of not just Real Madrid but in the history of World Football overall. Pure class, character, determination, and fantastic eye and hand coordination.

Sipho Thenjwayo Iker was better than Buffon in his prime(both at their absolute? Iker could do things no keeper could do as far reflexes) that said, Buffon overall would go probably go down as a better keeper due to his unreal longevity.
he was my role model when i played keeper we are gonna miss him.

As a Barcelona fan I can't stand Real Madrid almost hate them, but stars like Casillas and Raul were just out of this world and carried themselves like true professionals. I've been a fan of this guy since Euro '08 and wish him nothing but the best.
My personal preference is Buffon, but this guy was an awesome keeper during VERY big matches. I tip my hat to you sir.

Buffon is brilliant but winning Champions League at the age of 18 . I remember his 1st game against Bayer munchen . Casillas hold a little edge in terms of laurels .But I also admire Buffon .

Shere Pride That’s a team effort, If they switched clubs Casillas wouldn’t have one but Buffon in 2006 was the 2nd best player in the world and Casillas was never nominated for the Ballon D’Or
