Robin Hobb really is something else man, her character writing is just unmatched

Yeah, it's so crazy impressive and I wish there were more authors who had this level of character writing skill.

This is one of my favorite fantasy books of all time. What is really unique about this is that almost 90% of the story takes place inside a single manor and its grounds. I have a fascination for old houses and mysterious passages within them, so I really enjoyed this book. Also the story was just beautiful, lot of love but also heartache and suffering and twists all rolled into one.

Yeah it's crazy because I normally enjoy these huge, sprawling worlds. But I was obsessed with this book even though it took place in one single location (mostly). Such a wonderful book!

Matt, long time to talk. Just finished this book today. Wow. Hobb has such a powerful command over prose, and is one of the best character writers I’ve ever had the pleasure to read. Fitz may be my favorite character, full stop.

It was hard to click on this video with the fear of you possibly not loving it. That would have made for a very bad day. 😂 Awesome review as always sir!

Let’s see, everything from Tad Williams, Janny Wurts, Steven Erikson, Jim Butcher, Kate Elliott, All the Dune books, Bunch of Asimov, Some Adrian Tchyskoski, plus so much more. I’m currently making my way through the wheel of Time, And just started book 5.

Great review, Matt! I’m a couple books behind you - I finished Dragon Haven last night - but agree that Robin Hobb is the best! She has fast become my favorite fantasy author. I’m looking forward to seeing Fitz again soon!

Dragon Haven was my least favorite book in this whole series, but the next two books in the rainwild books are great. I hope you enjoy them!
