Los Tejabanes was right across the street from our amazing boutique hotel- Refugio del Mar. This restaurant was our favorite breakfast spot during our week long stay in Bucerias and is owned by Eddie (Edwardo), his mom and sister. Eddie is so wonderful to explain all the menu choices and often gave us samples of dishes we didn't order. Loved the fresh-pressed coffee, the thin, crispy pancakes and the enchiladas suizas! Guess I need to go over to Trip Advisor and leave this review there, lol. Loved Tacos Linda, too!
Thank you so much for sharing all of these restaurants! It was right on time for my visit next week and I will definitely be trying some of them. Cheers!

Hola!
We loved our experience in Bucerias so much that we ended up buying a condo near the Los Amores part of town. Even after being here a year we're still discovering new places and your list has a few we haven't tried yet, but will need to visit soon. One restaurant not on your list that I highly recommend is Culli's. They're on the "Upper East Side" of Bucerias on 5 de Mayo Street. Can be a bit of a walk, so if you're not comfortable walking up hill, I recommend a taxi as parking here can be challenging. Prices are moderate and the quality and presentation is amazing. They also have an all woman kitchen, which I think is kind of cool.

Thanks for the recc! I will add Culi's the list, hoping to do a video on some tasty spots on that side of the highway :)
Aly we had a great trip. Walked along the beach from riu. Found the oysters near Centro. Stopped on the way home got a message. Next day sayalita. Nice vibes cantaritos and lunch. 👍

Oh I'm so glad you found the oysters and had a great time!!
And , another great vid!!! I too have been to many of those restaurants, all good. But I love Mr. & Mrs. Fish. They Do have awesome onion rings!! Mmmmmm. Was just there in January. And Yo yo Mos, excellent Pizza there!! So many great restaurant choices there. Since I first went there, there have been quite a bit of changes but there are so many more restaurants there now. Really great ones too. And it seems new ones popping up all the time too. So, more opportunity for more videos by you. :) Salud!

I'm so excited to film part 2! Lots of places I wanted to mention/fit in but ran out of time. And that's what I love about visiting Bucerias, there always seems to be a few new spots each time
Are you kidding…? I loved the video 👏👏. Your videos are great, informative and with some class. It’s only May 17 2022 but looking forward to Feb/Mar 2023 Bucerias ! man it seems I’ve been waiting for some time 😂

That's so awesome to hear! SO excited for you guys
Very excited to come here again in a few weeks! I’ll look for the Oiler’s jerseys!! We were here three years ago and you’ve highlighted quite a few new gems! Do you know of any workout or yoga places? Were staying on the north end, couple blocks from the beach. Love to walk! Oh! Where does the ‘yellow brick road’ start - mentioned in your previous video? We walked to the beach to Nuevo (lots and f steps that day…without a cerveza in hand!) but would love to try this ‘shorter’ route for a day trip there! Thx so much for your detailed suggestions too!

Fitness Center Bucerias on the highway, and I believe there are several yoga studios, I haven't taken any classes so I can't recommend a certain one. And the yellow brick road - walk along lazaro cardenas passed the royal decameron (it might look like you're walking thru their property, but it's still the road). It then turns to sand for a bit and then you'll see the yellow path
Jo Jo's has relocated just a few blocks away.
Thanka for this. Mexico is on my bucket list!

Hi Aly….We were just in Bucerias in February and happened to eat at a few of the places you mention. Like you, we like to eat at authentic places too. We had a great breakfast at The Red Apple, good pizza at La Postal (I wasn’t overly impressed though). After having really delicious tacos from a street cart at Centro though, Tacos Linda was disappointing. The food at Miranda Carnitas (corner of Las Palmas and Ave Heroes de Nacozar - across the street from Oxxo) is really good….you should try it if you haven’t already. We like Oye Henry’s Beach Bar too. It sits on the sand and is a lovely, fairly quiet spot, for an afternoon drink and guacamole.

Great suggestions Sheryl. We went back to Taco's Linda a few months after making the video, and I was sadly disappointed as well. Perhaps I'm a street taco snob now, ha!
Can you recommend a hotel there with pool near the beach. For next time instead of staying in Vallarta? this town appears to have everything I look for in my vacation.
Good afternoon all, currently in Bucerias. Los Tejabanes and Cocina Mexicana appear to be closed.
Not food related- but what is the best way to get to Bucerias from the airport? Thx
Take me with you!😉
3 more days and I will be there. Staying at riu Jalisco.

Awesome! You could walk into Bucerias on the 'yellow brick road' trail
Hi Aly - I'll be travelling to Bucerias for the first time in July 2022. After watching your video, I'm very excited to try some of the restaurants there. I'm wondering if it's safe to eat the food that is uncooked - like salad? Or have drinks with ice in them? Thanks again for the video. I'm looking forward to Part 2!
@alysmalls

Hey there - I've eaten salads with no issues and the ice isn't a problem either. They make their ice from bottled or filtered water. if you're worried, just stick to restaurants that are busy/popular - that way you know everything is good and fresh!
Great little informative video! We are planning a trip to Sayulita, picking up rental car in Bucerias. Could you suggest a good grocery store/market to stock up before heading out?

Aly, do you and your husband live in Bucerias part time? Do you recommend any monthly rental properties? My wife and I are hoping to spend the winter months down there. What is your Canadian home town? Salud!

Hey Chris, no we just visit a few times per year. My in-laws live there though. I don't have a pulse on long term rentals, but I'm trying to eventually put together a video series about that in the future. We're from Alberta :)
just fyi machaca is made of beef not pork =) hope you like my neighborhood

@@alysmalls I mean yes you can make it out of any animal but the original machaca is only made of beef
Be careful in Bucerias not the same.
So I guess you can use dollars in Mexico. I was told it was only in Pesos you can pay.

Sorry but tacos Linda was disappointing. The food was not great. Service was good though.
