Definitely worth trying most of these spots, especially Foodland poke. Have a fun trip!
IMO....WHEN you return, MUST try Tamashiro Market, Young's Fish Market, Poke On Da Run, Tanioka's Seafood, Poke For The People & Tamura's Market for your poke "fix!"....Manichi Ramen/Kona St., Yum Yee Kee Dim Sum, Sing Cheong Yuan Bakery, Ying Leong Look Funn Factory & Chi Kong Look Funn Factory....

Thanks for recommendations, we actually had some of these places on our list to try but didn’t have enough time. For sure will try to hit these spots next time!
Heard Fresh Catch has great poke. I'm from North Shore side and Kahuku Superette has the best on that side of the island 🤙

@@YourFoodieHomies funny... born and raised here over 60 years ago, many love Foodland poke, and there's the camp that say it 's 'meh'! There is a poke shop in the Manoa district of Honolulu called Off the Hook that has poke with the cold ginger chicken dressing (chopped ginger, scallions, and oil, etc) mixed in.

@@YourFoodieHomies Foodland was borne from a wwII soldier who decided to settle down right after the war as he had visited Hawaii once before and fell in love with the 0lace and culture. Maurice Sullivan (and some financial supporters) opened up Hawaii's FIRST ever supermarket (FOODLAND) ini1949 at the shopping center he developed called Market City Shopping Center less than 3 miles out of Waikiki (near by Leonard's Bakery). Safeway came to the islands in '63.. they also sell poke but not as much varieties or quantity as Foodland. Go watch YTuber Mark Wiens and see where he ate poke when here about 5 years ago. His grandma lives on OAHU so he would visit often Oahu as a child so he remembers some places still.
Congrats on your first video! Also a Marugame Udon in the downtown business district.

Really can't be taught.
Good try with the poke Foodland is no where near the best. It's considered basic by local standards. Visit again and eat at Rys Poke Shack in Kahuku, Tamuras, or Kahiau if you want real poke.
Great video
