The Kool-Aid Man is a Marvel character! ► • Food Theory: Kool Aid ...
Fries are one of the best foods, especially fast food fries. From McDonald's and Burger King to Wendy's and Arby's, there are TONS of options to chow down on our favorite fried potato treat. Today, I want to figure out how to get the MOST out of my order of fries. Which restaurant gives me the most fries for my money and are their order sizes a TRICK to make us spend more on less food? I volunteered to eat my way through to the answer!

Im a former McDonald’s employee, I can’t speak for other McDonald’s over the world, but I’ve worked in two different locations, my brother my mom and my uncle as well, and we were all encouraged to under fill all Fry variants as much as possible, except if an official would stop by to check…. For his masters thesis he decided he was going to find the optimal meal that you could get at McDonalds, with optimal meaning that you could meet your base nutritional needs for the day at the lowest cost possible. Hilariously after months of work he completed his model and ran it only to find that hundreds of ketchup packets was the “optimal solution” due to it having all the essential nutrients and being free

I can only imagine what an average dude in Matpat's town thinks of him. On Monday, he walks into the movie theater and watches every showing of the same movie. And he takes notes while watching. On Tuesday, he plays video games all day, and seems to repeat the same action over and over again, taking notes every time. On Wednesday, he orders 1 of every kind of french fry order, and conts every last fry in each one, all while taking notes. On Thursday, he strands himself on a deserted island and takes notes on how best to survive in terms of murdering companions.

Back, when McDonalds had a "Super Size", the carton was quite a bit larger than the other sizes, and it was often well filled, while the other sizes seemed to be inconsistent or underfilled. At some point, they dropped the "Super Size", and in fact, the Super Size cartons became the Large size. The medium size started using the large cartons, and even the small size started using the larger bags, that the mediums had formerly been occupying. In addition, maybe around the 2010's or so, they started filling the cartons and bags as much as possible. That meant that a small could potentially round your meal off nicely, depending on the store. As far as quantity, I haven't had any complaints about McDonald's quantity for a long time. I consider the Large to be excessive, and Medium to be fine, in most cases. I mainly order large, when I'm with a friend, that doesn't order any fries for herself, but likes fries. As far as Orange Hi-C, I'm just overjoyed that it's back.

In a dance competition for our school's so-called "festival of talents," our teacher fed us one fry (yes, a singular fry, one shoestring) each, and it was the coldest soggiest fry we'd all ever eaten. Thing is, we actually won. There's a running joke among the class now that if you want to win a dance competition, every member must eat a cold, soggy shoestring fry. *fixed a typo Edit: the whole class was a total of 50 students, and we were all one team. That's the reason for one soggy fry each.

I do love curly fries, but I only get jalapeno poppers and mozzerella sticks from Arby's. What I can tell you that there's a marketing trick that makes you buy the "medium" option just because it seems better than the "larger" option. It's the reason why so many cups and movie popcorn are so big no matter what size you get. At the same time, I don't really do fast food places too much since we have more diners in New Jersey which have some of the best fries you can get.

But dont get me started on the small onion rings its the same one and its so hard to fill up with a decient amount of onion rings becuase they dont fit well.

Former McD's employee here: We were absolutely told to "fluff" the fries. It was couched in the guise of "Don't pack the fries in, you'll crush them!" and "Would _you_ want smushed fries?" which is nice and PR friendly, and sounds like keeping an eye on quality for the customer... except I wasn't "smushing" fries in, I was delivering up nicely full containers of fresh, hot fries that I'd be happy to get on my tray any day of the week.

The problem with the McDonald’s small fry is that they never bother filling them as much as they can. The workers need to be quick, they assume if you want a small fry you don’t want many fries. One time I literally got six singular fries in my bag.

Fry guy when I worked at McDonald's had to worry about getting fries out while also wearing the headset for one of the drivethrough lanes. So they would be jumping back and forth between those positions. Which often lead to either frys taking longer or being quick fill jobs... no one was ever told not to fill the larges up... the device McDonalds used to fill frys also could play into it as it's almost a fry funnel of sorts that often resulted in frys being pulled out of the cardboard when withdrawn.
