@@avian1 Because he can be even more crazy when not sticking to a script and his mic is either attached down to his shirt or some distance from his mouth allowing for movement plus his voice being sort of drowned out while a voice over would be with larger mic closer to his face. You can really see the difference between him and say Mark or Sean playing games because of set up. Sean and Mark ( and a number of other gamers ) have mics like he would have for voice over creating a clearer voice while he is using a stage type set up allowing more freedom at the cost of audio quality
Imagine just being a classmate of Ollie and hearing all of these bizarre experiments that his parents do at home 🤣

Time to dry my clothes on a stove
Might not see this but hey. I was able to make ice cream in my dryer. The method of the bottle in the plastic container was getting there, but not quite. I used two metal containers, ice cream inside the small one, inside the large one surrounded by ice and ice cream salt, sealed tightly and graciously padded so as not to damage the washer's inside. Turned out delicious, and was JUST the right level of frozen. (Side note, make sure the smaller metal container is not vacuum sealed, and it works better if the two containers are actually fused together so that the inside container isn't bouncing around the inside the larger container. Maybe weld them together?) I originally got the idea from an ice cream soccer ball that I use to have as a child. It was basically the same concept, but you kicked it instead of abusing your dryer.

@@kellym9190 I always kind of assumed that's what it was because it feels like you can't solidify milk without some liquid byproduct like whey or buttermilk. You're pretty much always just separating one part of the milk from another to make it into something solid
For the ice cream bit I think they should've used metal instead of plastic so that way the ice would stay in thus the liquid inside can get cold enough to form ice cream.
“I’m gonna mat-pat the steak”🤣🤣 6:20
For the ice cream, using pre-crushed ice would help prevent punctures, especially if you got the pieces small like shaved ice. And then you'd want really heavy-duty bags, like the kind used for sous vide, or using a thick and sturdy Tupperware that's taped shut for the ice container. Probably also stick it to the drum of the dryer, like with double sided tape or something. It might tumble a bit less, but there's probably a lower chance of it breaking that way.

For the ice cream, MatPat should've used shredded ice so it word be so hard that it punctured the bag.
The chemistry between Matpat and Steph is relationship goals.
For the ice cream in the dryer, maybe use small round ice cubes like what Dairy Queen offers to prevent a breakage of the container and to prevent to much banging in the dryer, take out the paddles so the jug can spin more smoothly. Maybe then we can make ice cream possible! :D

They should have wrap it in duct tape. Matpat is not in his Ducttape Dad Phase yet😑
Now we need to know if we can do our laundry in the kitchen
I know it’s a bit late, but may I propose a couple of suggestions for the ice cream? 1. Use a heavy-duty trash bag to contain everything. 2. Use crushed ice to avoid punctures. From what I could guess, the hard ice cubes bouncing around in the dryer might have damaged the bags/plastic lid. Maybe crushed ice, like for slushees, would produce less damage?

Matpat slowly working through the weird ideas he has in the middle of the night when there's no coffee
To succeed in making a ice-cream in a dryer you can do what you did the first time and tape the bag to the side of the dryer.
Matpat: i have the best idea for an intro. Now get in the dryer
right yes but now you need to test on style theory how well you can wash and dry an outfit in the kitchen (seems simple enough)
I would try using vacuum sealed bags to make the ice-cream. Those bags are really strong and maybe pad the inside of the dryer with lots of towels
24:50 The paper on their fridge that says "DAD" in colorful macaroni, Oh my gosh, my heart. My soul. It can't take it
Suggestions for ice cream, having made a bit myself with a homemade crank one: more salt for the ice- lots more salt, and realistically more ice as well. Basically you need to create saltwater as it has a lower freezing temp than the ice cream, and more salt makes that more efficient. Also- they make glass mason jars about the same size as your plastic one, with metal lids. Maybe also try attaching it to a side, to keep the motion consistent. (Something you try to do with hand crank ice cream makers is not stop the motion, so inconsistent motion and change in direction might be working against you.) Good luck! Hope that gave you some ideas! Look forward to the next attempt!

I was thinking maybe a top load plastic dryer might also help. The one they have is a front load, made with metal, and is a bit too big, which causes big inconsistent motion to the plastic bag/jar of ice.
@cullenlatham2366
Жыл бұрын
not sure if glass is the right option, at least without changing other factors like affixing it to the barrel itself. If even plastic, with a higher elastic deformation potential, got shattered by the various tumbling, the glass will likely become dangerous.
@rvcloud
Жыл бұрын
@@cullenlatham2366 excellent point, which is why I also suggested attaching it to the side. A sealable metal container might work better in case the attachment fails- however metal will also contract with the cold and make the container harder to open, or won't seal well enough to contain the ice water. I do think if they do test a large glass mason jar, wrapping it tightly in a blanket and tying it up might be a good idea as well as attaching it to one of the walls.
@poisonpenfairy2844

But one thing that didn't make sense to me is ice cream needs a lot of air to get churned into it - with all the necessary sealing of jars I don't see how you could get enough air in to make ice cream
@rvcloud
Жыл бұрын
@@poisonpenfairy2844 when I make it, the recipes I use, the liquid only goes about halfway up the container, and eventually fills it. Perhaps that's something else that their experiment can improve on- but really I'm not sure what the solution to that conundrum would be.
I'm not involved enough in theorist LORE to know who the lovely cat eared editor is, but it's a lovely added dynamic.
