You may not have a consistent route to start out but stick with it man and before you know it you’ll be running your own set route with consistent start times. Well, saying its too physical is not the right word. Just started with GFS and I realized thst some of the things we do are necessary. I can definitely say that everyone is not built for food service, the long hours, the physicality of the job, and the customer's expectations can crack some people. I don't mind it because I came from a construction background so I can deal with it. The boxes won't move themselves and unfortunately sometimes you have to move down stairs and tight spaces. I have all the respect for the drivers out there, be healthy and stay safe!

  • @TayTheLocalTrucker

    @TayTheLocalTrucker

    2 ай бұрын

    You’re absolutely right, too physical isn’t the term but it is definitely the mindset that so many drivers have. The complaint is that it’s too much digging, cases are too heavy, too much ramp running but like you said the boxes won’t move themselves. We just need a mindset shift. Appreciate you checking out the channel 🙏🏾🫡…stay safe and stay blessed bro

    Worked there for two years. Hurt my back at 18 months. Never got the 5th day off. Routinely worked 6 days. Made a mountain of money. About 115k both years. But I make a little less now with no pain. That job is life consuming. US Foods is a pretty poorly run company as well. Between routing that doesn’t take suggestions to a warehouse that doesn’t see the big picture. F that job.

    100%…the consistent money is why the ones who do stay actually stay, but it’s the physicality that makes people say “this ain’t enough money for all that work”. You’re right most trucking companies you don’t have to do much physical labor and you’re not making that good consistent money.
