Just remember Walmart sells more groceries than anyone in America and the world for that matter. This arguably means that they are probably one of the first places buying to restock. So in my humble opinion what’s happening at Walmart is soon to happen in all of the other stores. As Dan says buy those sales items especially at Kroger. God Bless and Stay Safe

@CraftEccentricity I do the same thing! I have been buying the 51 Oz Great Value Extra Virgin organic olive oil for $9.77 for years. In the last year and a half it has jumped up to being priced now at $22.97! It's priced at 45 cents an ounce and it's actually cheaper to buy the smaller bottle priced only at 40 cents an ounce go figure

The past week I canned 14 quarts of black cherries. 24 pints of sweet corn. 14 quarts of italian sausage and onions, 8 pints of carmelized onions. 8 pints of concentrated lemon juice. Freeze dried 2 pints of lemon powder. 12 quarts of freeze dried watermelon powder. 14 quarts of cubed beef with onions garlic and carrots. 16 pints of carrots. 9 dozen eggs freeze dried and powdered. I am so done. I sweat off probably 5 pounds of water. Taking tonight off and tomorrow another 7 quarts of black cherries, another 7 quarts of cubed beef, 7 quarts of chicken thighs, 7 quarts of italian sausage with onions. 8 quarts of potato and corn chowder. Oh... and how can i forget the 32 pints of home made baked navy beans with bacon and onions that I did the other day too. We have 1 quart in the fridge that won't last long. 😂😋

@janeburke147 we cook for our dogs. I buy beef liver, beef heart, chicken livers and they get carrots chopped spinach, sweet potato, broccoli, a peeled apple and cored, and 2 cups of brown rice. All in a pot with either water or beef stock. I cook it until all is cooked. Let it cool, then it goes in the food processor to chop it all up for them. I get 2 weeks this way. Make their servings. We have a freeze dryer and I can freeze dry it. But before, I would keep half in the fridge and half in the freezer. Much cheaper than dog food from the stores. They each get a doggie vitamin a day too. We have 4 dogs all different sizes from 7 lbs to 120 pounds.

I bought one hundred 100% organic cotton lint free kitchen towels about 8 years ago. We were going through too much paper products. Those 100 towels are still in use. None of them have shredded, some are stained but clean. We have 20 put aside for covering dough or bread and for drying washed dishes/mason jars/utensils. The paper towels are for pet 🤮 and their accidents, which doesn't happen often.

It's a never-ending cycle. The costs rise for the farmers, transport, rent, factories, electricity, packaging, worker wages, insurance, etc and the rise of those costs get passed on to us the consumer. I agree with you that everyone should buy items when they are on sale and do without, or find an alternative, if an item's cost is out of your budget. Great video Danno!

It looks like people in this country don't look around at what's going on around the world. We are very fortunate here even though things are not what they used to be. Nobody owns anything to anyone, so if one wants something better in life, it takes money or energy (effort.) it's pointless to complain and not even trying to do something as simple as planning and cooking. There is no one coming to the rescue. It's up to each and every one of us to take care of ourselves. What you've done for yourself is what you're going to get. Plain and simple. There is some knowledge left about the great depression, but not a lot of people look further. People have never lived better than they live now. Complaining is not going to change anything. Trying to make your own cookies and choose several pounds of potatoes over a bag of chips is a better way.

Kroger is still astonishingly expensive, but am taking advantage their digital deal, mostly the first page buy five deals. I have noticed a big influx of price increases at Meijer, yellow potatoes up 50 cents, cottage cheese up 30 cents, bread up 50cents, it seemed like just about all our regularly purchased items increased in a weeks time. If you don't know your prices you are likely over paying. Today I was pricing out strawberry jam (stock up), Kroger was the high at 4.79 to Aldi the low at 2.29. Crazy times indeed. Edit to add Sam's is the best price for Del Monte vegetables around us.

@catherinesymons9829 It is hard. We made a collective choice to sell and move. His parents moved in with us. They were having a difficult time living off of social security and paying property taxes. Our kids are young adults, and they cant afford the rents evennwith their good careers/jobs. So instead of paying for multiple house bills, we joined together. We now have 1 property tax, our mortgage is paid off, we have one home owners insurance, one internet bill, we have all the cell phones under 1 plan now and we get Netflix and Hulu and AAA with the plan. We grow a lot of food. We have chickens. We will need another 2 years for the fruit trees we planted to start producing fruit. There is always someone home and there is always someone that can help. The in-laws have their own in law suite, and our adult kids are scattered between the walk out basement and the second level. We share vehicles, so there is less gas being used and a smaller car insurance bill. I am so grateful that we have us all together. Dinners are when we get to see each other and chat. It has certainly helped financially with this economy.

@@catherinesymons9829 love it! I hear ya. I kept questioning myself as to HOW chickens have survived since the beginning of time without FEED STORES?? lol. 🤷‍♀️ I finally figured out that we have been so programmed to rely on outsourcing everything to feed everything over the last 100 or so years because that’s exactly how “they” want us to think. You can grow the crap out of southern peas, corn, potatoes, etc for calories and protein for them. If you have leftovers, give them a little. If they can free range all you have to do is give them a little something just to make it worth their while to comeback to roost for the night at your place. You can make rings with wire, throw a little feed, banana or cucumber down, water it well, cover it with pine needles, straw or hay and you will have meal worms for weeks that can feed the chickens. If you get the wire that’s just big enough for their heads to fit in, they will get enough without decimating the worms. Keep feeding the worms, they’ll keep feeding your chickens. They can live on beans and rice and produced better and looked healthier off the feed store food. You can also take some of those extra eggs, crack them into a pan, shell crushed in with them n all, mix it with a little rice and a little herbs and they got a balanced meal. Just some ideas! We have to get out of “their” in the box thinking and start making our own for ourselves and our communities as much as possible. 🤍

One more thing is that this is real inflation and not corporate greed. I have worked for Walmart and they are dead serious about getting things at the best price possible and passing the deal to consumers at least as far as dry goods. Their meat and produce sucks and so do the prices. I went in one evening and all Pepsi and Frito Lay displays had been taken down and put in the backroom. Pepsi was trying to raise their soda prices and Walmart said no. I am not sure if it was regional or national, but it only took about a week for Pepsi to knuckle under. They did not mess with their regular shelf space, but losing those displays were costing Pepsico millions.

Considering the insane wage hikes across the country, the manufacturers must raise their wages to even keep employees and they will be passing that increase in their costs onto the consumer. Too many people don't understand that...big business doesn't "pay taxes", pay the increase in wages, pay the increased costs of raw materials out of their pockets, it is ALL passed on to the consumer. No surprises that the prices of everything is going through the roof. I wonder how many Americans will be losing weight in the next year or so...

The Star-Spangled Banner is in the public domain because it came from Francis Scott Key’s 1814 poem. The Songs musical composition is also in the public domain because it’s based on the ANACREONTIC song which was written in 1700, was based on the original song. But the words and Melody are indeed free to all to use.,In fact the national anthem act declares this precisely. However, musicians can copyright their own arrangements of the anthems melody and words. However, the song status in the US national anthem means that copyright may still apply in certain situations. For example, organizations like the NFL, MLB, and NBA, may own the mechanical, preferences, and publishing rights to a specific performance of the song of its broadcast, recorded, or sung during a televised game. Individuals may also need to obtain a mechanical license and pay a fee to record a published version of this song. It’s so complicated.😢

I shop Aldi more than anywhere and Ingles has good sales, but you have to do your homework. All of these stores make up for the sales by bumping up other prices though. I buy the sales and figure out the best place to get the other stuff. I am lucky to have all of the stores a minute or two apart. Also do not sweat best buy dates too much. I have ate canned veggies and meat 2 and 3 years past the date and they were fine. I have also opened canned tomatoes and potatoes that were new and had them spray everywhere. That goes in the trash and everything gets bleached to avoid poisoning. You have to use your head.
