Being from Louisiana I can attest that shrimp or any other seafood boil is basically just “put it in the pot and it’ll come out good”. I’ve met lots of people that are always confused on why we put so much in our boils and it just comes down to lots of flavors and whatnot. Also tons of sodium with all the seasoning we use however so nothing about a seafood boil is healthy but it’s still done year-round
