We went to Petaling Street KL Chinatown again. We wanted to try two restaurants. Fung Wong Biscuit and Luck Bros Kopi cafe. We couldn’t try these two restaurants because there was a long queue waiting when we were there last time.
After breakfast and lunch, we walked to Dataran Merdeka, the Independent square. It is also known as Merdeka Square (Merdeka means independent in Malay). Passed by the Masjid Jamek Mosque (officially known as Sultan Abdul Samad Jamek Mosque). It is one of the oldest mosques in Kuala Lumpur. The mosque is located at the confluence of Klang River and Gombak River, also referred to as the River of Life. This area will be lit up along the river.
Continue to the independent square. The Dataran Merdeka (Merdeka Square). This is the site of the flagpole where the Union Jack was lowered on midnight of 30th August 1957 and raised the Malaysia flag for the first time to become independent on 31st August 1957.
At the end of the day, we wind down at Luck Bros Kopi to try their local cold dessert. Cendol ice and air batu campur also (shaved ice mixed with peanuts and red beans) also known as ABC.
