I am doing food combining. Not only my digestion is fixed but I am also loosing weight. I don't have crashes anymore every time that I eat. I did keto for six months and I crashed every time that I ate. My mood is better. I am not a slave of food. I can eat whatever I want but I choose responsible. I avoid everything process.I really don't care what science says. what I care is how my body and my mind responds and that is what it matters to me.

It works for me every time. I have controlled my weight with this over the last 30 years. Not saying that I do it 365 days a year (If I go out or for any festivities, I eat conventionally) but it is my health and weight correction. I feel so much better when I Food.combine, probably because it makes me ditch sugar completely - no craving. If it is placebo effect - I don’t care - if “scientists” don’t agree - I don’t care. If Scientists knew how digestion works, there would not be so many different views out there. I found my solution to health and weight stabilisation.

The Hay diet and Food combining for Health by Doris Grant were the first books i read on food combining as i was looking for a cure for eczema as I'd tried everything to get rid of it, and it worked! Food combining for health book states the importance of having one starch meal a day eg. Potato or rice or pasta with vegetables/salad, one protein meal with veg/salad and one alkaline meal such as fruit or veg soup. I ate this way for years and never had any problems. Then I done atkins diet 3 years ago and i gained 12lbs lol! Up till last week I wasn't food combining then I read about an old actor who had passed away recently (95yrs) she had done food combining for years. So I thought, ffffkkkuuuk it! Am doing food combining again cause i feel like 💩💩💩. And now am slowly getting back into it again and my arthritis is improving so yeh, it works for me.

Im a bit surprised on how many people are watching this stating that I recommend it. In the video I specifically state, "This is based on an ancient philosophy... This holds no weight in science.... Science disproves this philosophy". Understand that I have received hundreds of questions on this topic over the past few years, so that is why I am discussing it. Also understand that many people practice this and claim it makes all the difference for them. If you choose to practice the food combining method it that is up to you. I don't think this method is bad, but for me personally it's too much effort for the very minor benefit it may or may not offer.

I remember the old Leslie Kenton books from the 1990s. They were very big on food combining. There was a particular diagram I photocopied and stuck up on my kitchen cabinet door, showing protein and starch, and then the various (other) vegies and fruit and which went with each (and didn't go with each). I was young and energetic then, and a lot of the (now) dingbat food ideas I tried didn't seem to affect me adversely - now, if I just WALK down the biscuit aisle in the supermarket bad things happen to me.

Isn't a diet high in fat and protein, with little to no carbs the Keto diet? It's worked really well for me, lost 40 pounds in just over 4 months. Cutting carbs and sugar from my diet has been a blessing. Now you're saying to eat my fats WITH starch, aka carbs? My head is spinning.

You said leafy vegetables can be combined with anything. I normally have smoothies in the morning for breakfast eg strawberry n kale n celery n avocado n banana. I give this to my toddler son as well. Is this a good combination? I notice he always gets bloated after drinking this smoothie combo

You say at the beginning "at the end of this video, I'll talk about the science behind this methodology" . Should have said ...'the LACK of science behind this methodology' , and then interspersed that lack of science after every combo. Considering all the comments, it would have been less confusing.

But then you state right at the beginning the "food combinations that you MUST avoid" Then u keep saying it's an ancient philosophy. Then u say there is no science behind it, just anecdotal " they feel better". Stomach pH ranges between 1-5. Not going to get an alkaline pH in your stomach for digestion. Suggest you just remove this video...people dont need to be confused by this. Dont complicate healthy eating.

I’ve heard that while fruit is best eaten alone it’s not a very good practise for those in middle age or older (I’m a 63 yard old female.) as it tends to turn into sugar due to a slower metabolism in older people and can lead to diabetes. Is this true. I’m a bit confused about it. It was suggested to combine fruit with leafy green in a SMOOTHY which would even out the sugar spike. I’m not sure that regular smoothies or drinking your food on a regular basis is very healthy either. We need to chew our food. I know a lot of people advocate as a good health brekky a big bowl of oats with fruits such as blueberries etc. Not a good idea if fruit is best eaten alone. I’d say oats take a lot longe to digest than fruit too. Can you please comment on my question. I’m new to food combining and would like to do it properly. Thanks.

I have abandoned Keto as I seem to have developed gallstones. I think they may have been there already and eating Keto with IF only brought them to the fore so now I can no longer process fats.....if I eat anything with any fat I have terrible pain with nausea and vomiting for hours on end in the middle of the night. The pain can be excruciating to say the least. I am waiting to have my gallbladder removed. In the meantime only carbs, vegetables, fruit and protein all with minimal fat.

What about plant proteins? Like beans and lentils and legumes? Most people tend to eat those with rice, correct? Do plant proteins react the same as animal proteins? I do notice that when I combine certain foods together it tends to sit in my tummy like a Rock! (Even though I've never had heart burn or acid reflux.)Hmmm?🤔

From what I’ve learned, legumes are more starch than protein. Theoretically, you should be fine combining beans with rice, potatoes, seeet potatoes, etc. HOWEVER, I’ve definitely noticed I have major bloating when I combine beans with starches. Tofu would be considered a protein.

If proteins are sitting in your stomach like a rock there is likely a pH problem. Read on this. store.nuvisionhealthcenter.com/Gastro-pH-Naturally-Balance-Stomach-pH-p/nhc131.htm

A believe it all comes down to the water content of each individual food and how fast it releases the water neutralizing the stomach acidity, we all know how hard it is to digest raw meat, it seats in the stomach like a rock, cooking, baking, curing, hanging and fermenting, everything has one thing in comon, it removes most water content from the meat, the same goes for beans when you discard the cooking liquid to avoid bloating, meat and drained beans digests fairly equally

Dr. Nick, enjoy your videos. So I know you said you didn't get any info from scientific studies. I watch Thomas Delauer, he did a show on the same topic and he said from scientific studies that you can eat protein with carbs or protein with fats but shouldn't eat fats with carbs because the carbs open the cells to store the fats. I never had so problem eating all day once. But I know everyone's different. I am lucky and have a great metabolism.

He was talking about the same thing and that he says when you eat carbs and fats together the carbs open the cells to allow the fats in and then then stores it. Who knows he could be wrong or right.
