I run by a similar theory while beach fishing. Start off with the bait catcher rig in the afternoon for small herring and sand whiting, then use them for tailor bait at sunset and the tailor fillets for mulloway bait in the night session. Not always successful but always fun. BTW you eastern staters have to stop calling that a big salmon. Salmon don't start getting big until 70 to 75 cm,s 90 plus is big and no you won't land it with 4lb keader.
