I love how Dave at one point looks back at Taylor like bruh… I’m in trouble… and Taylor just sings. Didn’t skip a beat. It was flawless. RIP Taylor. 💔

looks more the other way around - you can see Dave laughing at 1:35 because Taylor just starts singing the higher notes to support the voice of Dave, that's where Dave starts laughing and turns around. Taylor just continues the support before he takes over in the final moments of the song. Feels more like a subtle asking to help which Dave gratefully accepts. The chemistry between the two was awesome. I'm still sad to this day about the loss.

Dave Grohl said that he and Taylor were meant to be and this moment, with Taylor coming in to help him out, just showed how much they were meant to be. My heart hurts for Dave right now. I cannot imagine the pain he is feeling to never turn around and see his best friend at the drum set again.

He has a great voice. Much like Dave had when playing for Nirvana. Kurt even tried to get Dave to sing some of his own songs, but he didn't feel worthy. He was 'just the drummer'. After Nirvana ended, Dave felt like he owed it to Kurt to do his thing like Kurt was always trying to push him to do.

Watching his son Shane play the drums killed me 😢 he did him so proud x

I was there when Dave broke his leg and Taylor sang Queen-songs while Dave was taken care of in a medic-tent, and getting a cast. Phenomenal gig outside in the Swedish summer-night. I also went to see them at the same venue (Ullevi, Gothenburg) the following gig a couple years later. And they started the show by letting a stunt-standin, fall from the stage, disquised as Dave. So happy I got to see Taylor with them.

I was there too, at both shows. I'd discovered Taylor's vocals in his other projects just a year or two earlier and was instantly a fan of his vocal style. So that night was the best ever for me, I got to see both the foo fighters for the first time and Taylor as a front man. I'll never forget it.

Yeah me too. I remember first seeing the music video for Everlong when I was like 13 back in 1997 and they caught my eye since then... I was about to see dream theater live this winter, my brother had the tix, but the venue said only vaxxed people can attend. Sucky times.

Taylor always reminded me of Animal from the Muppets. Just pure excitement to be playing his music. That’s how I’ll remember him.

Someone else just told me the exact same thing. First time he'd actually watched a FF concert video. Out of nowhere he said "the drummer reminds me of animal from the muppets". ☺ Yeah, he kinda does - love him though!!! What a tragic loss to his family, friends & his Foo family 💔😭. RIP Taylor. 🙏🏻 This world will truly miss you.

I got to hang out with Taylor a few times. His cover band played at one of my bar and grill customers in Burbank. Taylor was kind, humble, happy and so cool. I helped him load and unload his drums and cymbals, we talked gear, kids, rock and roll dreams, and food. He even called me "Food Guy" and would holler from the stage "what's good to eat here food guy?" I will always remember just how cool, calm, and happy he was. He still inspires me to be the same.

Pat Smear is so cool. He was there for Kurt Cobain and now he is here rocking out with Dave. He always has a big smile on his face and he has all this positive energy.

Taylor really does have such a beautiful voice 🥲💕 I’m sick and tired of him being gone 💕

Taylor hawkins was such a driving force and presence in this band, but also as a person. His talent was immeasurable. And when Dave needs help cause his voice is shot, taylor steps up and sings the fuck outta that part while never skipping a beat and shaking that arena with his drum fills. You'll be forever missed, Taylor. But your music and your spirit will live on forever

This brings me joy and sadness in equal measure. Dave’s “come on T” for the finale and in response Taylor’s vocals go up a few gears. Magical.

It's a nice sentiment but nothing lives forever. Taylor lived in the moment and had a good life experience. Time and memories are like the wake behind a boat, they leave a trail that quickly disapates and fades away. The good, the bad, the beautiful and the ugly, it all ceases to exist as soon as it's occured.

Odds are they either use a session drummer or they might recruit someone good to be Taylor's replacement basically. If you think about it, the dynamic will just change. It of course will be 100% different, but it's the FF. They'll adapt and come back even stronger.

Condolence's to everyone who loved Taylor........and that includes anyone who ever saw or knew him. David......stay with us. Me too. When I hear him on "Shadow dancing" I'm regretting how he didn't get more time as a lead singer whether with the Foos or other. Such a great voice 😢. Loved seeing him give his all each time and am wondering how he didn't break his back like Phil Collins or whatever, when you saw how he was hitting the drums, banging his head, making his blond hair fly... **sigh**

The chemistry between Dave and Hawkins will never be matched again. So sad.

Dave’s genuine laugh when Taylor surprises him with the light harmonizing is too much.

Most people dont know how unbelivably hard its is to drum and sing at the same time.. You got 4 different things going and you have to focus hard not to sing false and keep on track. Its multitasking at its hardest.

It's no different than singing and playing any instrument. It's actually easier in some instances in my opinion. It's rare vocals and rhythm "clash" or go "in different directions" whereas lead melodies and backing arrangements tend to go off the path of the vocals/main rhythm to add depth.

@@bandofmountains that's a negative bass, lead etc you can stand their and not move. Drums you have to keep both feet going and hands while also playing a song and keeping time. It's actually hard and it takes a lot of endurance also especially with Taylor god rest his soul he never used a click when playing he was literally the metronome

Feel so unbelievably lucky to have been there that night. We drove from SW London, UK to Nurburg, Germany to go to this festival. Taylor was the backbone to every Foo's show I've been lucky enough to go to, and I can't thank them enough for the memories. RIP x

After seeing this I realize when he played this song during the tribute and he choked up and had a hard time singing that he looked back to where Taylor would be and wished with all his heart that his voice would come in and help him sing the song....but he wouldn't. That broke my heart. I've never cried for any celebrity or artist but Dave Grohl and Taylor Hawkins. I still choke up thinking about Taylor being gone.

F*ck I'm gonna miss the dynamic between these two so much... Tears in my eyes. It's Times like these that learn to appreciate what you have and cherish it. Love you Taylor and Rock on, wherever you are!

True. I've learned that lesson in this life. Sometimes, a person is so impactful in your life, that there is no getting over their passing, or having " closure". All you can do is learn how to cope with their death and manage steady enough to keep your balance thru the rest of your days.

yeah, especially when dave realizes the myocarditis caused by the covid vaccine Taylor took just so they could play shows in places with stupid vaccine mandates. I'd rather Taylor quit the band than submit to experimental medical practices. But there we are, and i'm so sad to know Taylor is dead.
