Perfectly done!! I was 15 years old in 1965 when Fontella Bass released this song. I was growing up in St. Louis where I believe Fontella Bass (pronounced like the fish, and not the guitar) was from. She passed away in 2021, I believe. I don't think there are any other guitars in this song other than the bass. If this is true, it would be the only rock and roll song from the 1960s with only a bass for lead guitar. Thanks for a job WELL done!

In this 1965 song, the bass player is KING! I don’t hear any other guitars in the band besides the bass.

What a great bass line. Is that James Jamerson on bass? Classic soulful funky Motown bass line. Smoothly played Geordie and super tight. You are locked in. Cheers.

Louis Satterfield was a trombonist who took up the new-fangled Fender Bass for Chess Records. He mentored bassist Verdine White of Earth Wind and Fire. Likewise he played with trombone with EWF plus occasionally the bass when Verdine was flying in a UFO stage prop...lol.
