Like stone roses. great band guys
I love how they speed up when playing live makes the show sound better
This is the best song from 2022. Masterpiece. I love them. Brothers
You can see he’s visibly annoyed he gets the lyrics muddled up. Cracking poet
I didn't like these at first , but I am slowly warming up to how good they are...
this band. it’s everything to me

I love you, I love you, I told you I do It's all I've ever felt, I've never felt so well And if you don't know it, I wrote you this tune To be here loving you when I'm in the tomb I've eddied the heart now, from Dublin to Paris And if there was sunshine, it was never on me So close, the rain, so pronounced is the pain Yeah Well, I love you, imagine a world without you It's only ever you, I only think of you And if it's a blessing, I want it for you If I must have a future, I want it with you System in our hearts, you only had it before You only open the window, never open up the door And I love you, I love you, told you I do Selling genocide and half-cut pride, I understand I had to be there from the start, I had to be the fucking man It was a clamber of the life, I sucked the ring off every hand Had 'em plying me with drink, even met with their demands When the cherries lined up, I kept the spoilings for myself 'Til I had thirty ways of dying looking at me from the shelf Cloud-parting smile I had, a real good child I was But this island's run by sharks with children's bones stuck in their jaws Now the morning's filled with cokeys tryna talk you through it all Is their mammy Fine Gael and is their daddy Fianna Fáil? And they say they love the land, but they don't feel it go to waste Hold a mirror to the youth and they will only see their face Makes flowers read like broadsheets, every young man wants to die Say it to the man who profits, and the bastard walks by And the bastard walks by, and the bastard walks by Say it to him fifty times and still the bastard won't cry Would I lie? I love you, I love you, I told you I do It's all I've ever felt, I've never felt so well And if you don't know it, I wrote you this tune To be here loving you when I'm in the tomb System in our hearts, you only had it before Echo, echo, echo, the lights, they go The lights, they go, the lights, they go Echo, echo Selling genocide and half-cut pride, I understand I had to be there from the start, I had to be the fucking man It was a clamber of the life, I sucked the ring off every hand Had 'em plying me with drink, even met with their demands And I loved you like a penny loves the pocket of a priest And I'll love you 'til the grass around my gravestone is deceased And I'm heading for the cokeys, I will tell 'em 'bout it all About the gall of Fine Gael and the fail of Fianna Fáil And now the flowers read like broadsheets, every young man wants to die Say it to the man who profits, and the bastard walks by And the bastard walks by, and the bastard walks by Say it to him fifty times and still the bastard won't cry Would I lie
This was such a treat! Thank you Jameson & Fontaines DC 😃 🇮🇪💚

Like that comparison.
One thing I have noticed about Grian live is he often never comes in with the vocals when he’s supposed to and makes the band loop the intro several times lol

Maybe it’s just something they want to do live, make it more of jam session, who knows? 🤷🏼♂️

This is a very post punk thing to do in live performances. Particularly for bass line driven songs like this. Joy Division have a live performance of Dead Souls that opens a gig where the intro loops for two minutes longer than it should.

@@jordanpomeroy1937maybe he wants the fans get more into it by letting the instruments play a bit before he starts singing. Sort of building ‘tension’ in a sense, i think it’s kinda better too; i love this song so perfect like the instrumentals just beautiful and as an Irish citizen the lyrics are just something else. Saw them live in December, absolutely love them
I used to love gigs WITHOUT BLOODY PHONES - none of you will ever know that.

Was this at the vic, in Chicago.
We met at Sheila's Tourist hostel a couple of weeks ago. If you see this message I'll be back in December for a bit. Respond to this message if you see it
I don't understand why they play this song so much faster than the record it really isn't a good choice

Sounds a lot better at this speed, especially when its performed live.

you can never perfect a song from when it’s recorded to performing it live, look at other bands like nirvana for example most of the time kurt never sounded like how he did on the record yk

I think it's quite great how they speed it up! I like how the record gives you the much more polished slow version, while the live one is much more raw and powerful. But to each their own I guess!

@@culturalcliche9708 id say their sound is about the same as the record when they’re performing , the only difference in this is the tempo of the song really

@@filiptomic8531 I can see how somebody could find cool the verse parts at this tempo but bro is it terrible when it gets to the selling genocide part , it sounds like it’s all torn apart in such a terrible way
