    That is fabulous. The completed cake is awesome. I am raising my granddaughter. She LOVES Scooby. I believe I am going to have to make this for her. :) One little tip for your viewers. Print 3 or 4 copies of your design idea. Keep one intact and use the others to cut apart and trace for various pieces, like the tongue and eyes and inner part of ears.

    Thank you!! You can use copyrighted images if you don’t sell them for a profit. So as a gift for friends / family. If you decide to sell them then it’s a risk that you personally have to decide if you want to take.

    How do you decide if it is better to use an edible image or a fondant image? I like making the 2D images too but sometimes they are so time consuming due to detail. I don't have an edible printer yet so I don't have a choice except to make by fondant either way but some super detailed things of course I would rather use an edible image to save me much time. Like the Scooby for example how come you choose to do him by fondant instead of edible image or was it just for teaching purposes? I'm just wondering is there any particular times we should use fondant image instead of edible image?

  • @KarolynsKakes

    @KarolynsKakes

    Жыл бұрын

    I do what you said...if it's something really detailed, I will print an edible image. Human faces are challenging for me to make out of fondant. So on this Scooby cake, I did the human people as edible images. I did Scooby out of fondant because he's easier to make. Most people prefer the look of fondant, but, like you said, it is time consuming. And, therefore, costs a lot more to do. A lot of people choose based on the price.

    Hello, I want to start off by saying your amazing and I love your cakes and how you walk us step-by-step through instructions. Out of all the youtube videos I watched, I rate you number 1. How are you able to get copyright images and use them on cakes? I want to start selling cakes, but I live in Illinois and from my understanding you can't sell cakes from your home do to a Cottage law. Do you know how to get past that?

  • @KarolynsKakes

    @KarolynsKakes

    Awwww thank you! You can make copyrighted image cakes for friends and family as a gift, but if you sell them for a profit, you are taking a risk. And you have to decide if that’s a risk you want to take. I looked it up and in Illinois, and it looks like you can sell cakes from home. So you would just have to set up a business (I met with a lawyer to start my LLC)

    @@ODY0319 OK I just found the comment. It was difficult to tell in the picture. Did you mix tylose with the fondant? Did you knead it together a few times before rolling it out? You want the fondant to be smooth before you start cutting into it. Was your knife blade sharp? Did your fondant not hold together very well (possibly too much sugar added)? There are so many things it could be.
