beautiful memories!!!Love Judy..it was and it's the best musical ever.

Its interesting how when this movie first came out it was considered a flop, but now today it is considered one of the greatest if not THE greatest movie of all time.

It wasn't a flop, it was a phenomenon. But it had been very expensive, not just to make, but to promote, so MGM didn't really see a profit on it until it had been re-released a couple of times. But it was re-released because people were clamoring for it. ;-)

The most iconic and memorable moments for me, and nothing that comes after, will ever come close!

Even if everybody is dead in this movie, this film never ages.

Such a fantastic movie!! I have the 75th anniversary DVD here at home and saw it for the first time ever!!! I am 23 and I love this movie! Its really iconic!

That song never gets old ^w^.

Brings joyful tears to my eyes. My favorite movie! Dorothy will always live in some part of me, right next to my old, best friend and Cairn Terrier, Nano. RIP.

I showed my 3yr old daughter this. Now she tries to skip around the house signing Follow the Yellow Brick Road. I find musicals are great for her as she is bilingual but speaks more German and than English. I'm an American living in Germany and most people around her speak German. Now she's singing these musicals in English.

Update: She just turned 5 and her English is pretty good. Although due to iPad videos and shows like Peppa Pig it is an American accent with hints of British & Australian.

The 1939 MGM Beautiful, Beloved, Brilliant, Charming, Classic, Delightful, Excellent, Fantastic, Perfectly Cast, Outstanding, Uplifting, Wonderful Fantasy Musical Movie, The Wizard of Oz is my favorite movie of all time ever since I first saw it at age two. I was born in the late fall of 1978. I have many favorite movies! However, the 1939 MGM classic Fantasy Musical Movie, The Wizard of Oz is in a class by itself!

+DasKame Things like that happen in a lot of movies. There was a movie called "Russian Ark," which was shot in one take. They filmed at the Winter Palace of the Russian State Hermitage Museum in Saint Petersburg. They had rehearsed for days, making sure to have everything in place when the camera moved through the museum, and on the first try, less than five minutes in, someone made a mistake. On the second take, they got it right, and the movie was done in a little over an hour and a half.

It wasn't, but Snow White is in the movie; the voice that sings "Wherefore art thou Romeo?" in "If I Only Had a Heart" belongs to Adriana Caselotti, who played Snow for Disney.

I've watched this movie from childhood and have always loved it. The Munchkins are the best part of the movie and the dancing fiddlers are my second favorite. The female Munchin in the green dress and yellow bonnet behind the fiddlers and to Dorothy's left was in perfect step and unison with Dorothy. Maybe the best movie of all time !

I did a play on this and it was so hard to get the tongue twister right. I got it first and my teacher made me stand in front of everyone and sing it until they get it: we're off to see the wizard the wonderful wizard of oz, we hear he is a whiz of a wiz if every a wiz there was, if ever of over a wiz there was the wizard of oz is one because because because because because....
