Juan Tamariz is a one-of-a-kind performer. A household name in his native Spain , he is one of the most unique and talented performers ever to grace our art. In the tradition of Vernon and Slydini he has blazed his own enchanted trail. His books on magic are required reading for any thinking student of magic. His repertoire is vast as well as legendary; he once performed for 74 weeks in a row on television. He is in constant demand and is often mobbed on the streets of Madrid by adoring fans. He is one of those especial performers that takes the spectators on a wonderful journey - a magical journey through the heart as well as the mind.
Juan is the consummate performer. Armed with only a deck of cards he can entertain a small group or a packed auditorium for hours. He is hilariously funny, but at the same time he'll fool you like you've never been fooled before. He is one of magic's greatest thinkers, a master of misdirection and a magic philosophy.

It's like when a mentalist says "Your card must be black... or red..." Spectators that don't notice will see magic. Those who do notice will see it as a rather funny joke.

I dont think so. If you follow his act you would just "missdirected" by his missdirection. His missdirection is strong enough that the audience is thinking that those cards with the "leader" is the color of the whole packet. When you see a magic trick, dont try to figure it out, just enjoy the magic...

When looking very closely at him switch the last 2 cards at 5:19 you'll realise something dodgy with the movement of his hands...look closely, pause, play video slower or rewind if you have to...Do you see what i see????

he's a king of misdirection, no question about that. It's just the way he does it seems a little bit childish which reduces the effect of the trick.

Thats the whole point, via david williamson.. his childish sloppynesd covers the sleights snd misdirection

The childishness is important, because when a magician performs, one of the best forms of misdirection is perceived skill vs. actual skill.

  • @alexac1994

his tricks are great but the way he presents them makes it seem like he's communicating with a bunch of kids. Makes the trick rather trivial and childish.

Because "magic" with cards is a very non trivial thing?.. right?.. Dude, if you want some serious shit, go to the opera or something...
