"Follow Me Up To Carlow" - Irish Rebel Song
Музыка
"Follow Me Up to Carlow" is an Irish folk song celebrating the defeat of an army of 3,000 English soldiers by Fiach MacHugh O'Byrne (Fiach Mac Aodh Ó Broin) at the Battle of Glenmalure, during the Second Desmond Rebellion in 1580. The tune was collected by McCall, who heard it being played by musicians in County Wexford in Ireland. It is reputed that this air had been played as a marching tune by the pipers of O'Byrne’s Army during the rebellion.
Performed by the Wolfe Tones in their debut album, The Foggy Dew, 1965.

@@balladsofhistory thanks
I personally prefer the high kings version, it just sounds better quicker imo. Great song either way
I found the original Irish Jacobite version of Óró Sé Do Beatha Bhaile(Searlás Óg) I leave it here in case you may want to translated it into english. There isn't another video using this Original Version all others use the modified version made by Pearse kzread.info/dash/bejne/dauCvLuPg9PNYNI.htmlsi=H-UGZspV0I85hfWz
