Also.. she's super close with Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively. Their two older daughters' names are Inez and James. There's some speculation that Betty is the name of the youngest daughter, just because it's the third name in the "Teenage Love Triangle" she created on this album :)

They never have said what their 3rd child, a girl, was named. Well now we know....hello Betty! So clever! Also, their older daughter is the child’s voice you hear at the beginning of “gorgeous”

this story is part of a storyline. she has said that three songs are part of the love triangle storyline, and they're probably cardigan, august, and betty. although i think you can fit this is me trying and illicit affairs into it as well, even if this is me trying seems to be more personal on an emotional level. august (the other girl's perspective) -> illicit affairs -> betty (james' perspective) -> this is me trying -> cardigan (betty's perspective)
