Folding Railcart Speeder

Speeding downhill on the Railcart with my Son, Matthew.
We took the cart out for an adventure, then decided to hide it with my camo net and go hiking.
We explored Indian Hill , Where Native Americans have used for over 2000 years.
We also went on to explore old camps from the Railroad workers from over 100 years ago.
Those videos will be uploaded soon, so hit SUBSCRIBE as to not miss any upcoming adventures. I am currently in Florida, looking for abandoned Tracks. If you know of any, Let me know in the comments below the video.
Thanks.

    Technically you can make the brake shoes that are not engaging a wheel, but instead the rail surface under the cart. In a way it's a lever that would push the long brake shoe against the rail head. What that does- it would transfer the weight of the cart form the wheels onto the rail brake shoe - and can stop the cart pretty quick if applied fast. Such brakes are used by trams.

    My dad & I built a water bike(bicycle frame on pontoons with a paddle wheel for propulsion) back in the 1960's. We had problems with the chain jumping until we realized the bicycle frame was slowly wallowing out the slot it was in and letting the chain get loose. We put a bar across the slot so the tensioning bolts on the frame rested against the bar and we could tighten the chain. There is too much flex in the frame sticking out and the chain too loose. The chain needs a little tension on it but not much.

    How did you make those wheels?

  • @pappysproductions

    @pappysproductions

    3 жыл бұрын

    I bought the wheels on Ebay. I made the hubs out of 3/4 inch ply wood to make the wheels wider, so i do not derail when the tracks widen. I used a band saw, then turned them on a lathe. They would've worked fine with out turning them on the lathe, but I had access to it, so I turned them.
