🔥🔥Fodera Emperor Custom 5-String Bass || Tone Review

Музыка

This is a tone review for my custom Fodera Emperor deluxe. All custom Fodera’s are made by order so tone will vary but I want to give you a general idea on how this bass sounds.

This is probably the best review I've seen regarding bass. Soooooo many folks out there either 1 - Use the microphone on their phone/ipad (for bass, seriously? what is even the point?) 2 - Non-stop slap fest and like to think it's a "review" (nope, it's just you showing off your chops) 3 - Do not use the EQ in a musical sense (they essential bring up each band in 1/4 increments rather than using them all in a musical setting) Thank you for going through using the EQ in a number of musical styles. Great playing and great insight.

Hey Paulo, thanks!! I got the chance to try a Pedulla in a guitar shop once. The one I tried had a narrow neck for my liking but I’m sure there may be others that are great out there. I would like try out other models. Thanks again!

Great review bro! My Custom Fodera Emperor 5 string is my #1 bass for life! Having those Duncan dual pickups with the coil tap is so clutch because you can get single coil Fender J or P bass tones that sound PERFECT for many styles. Duel coil mode you can get a more Smith type tone, but more open and dynamic than most hum buckers pickups Ive heard imo. The back pickup in dual coil mode can get a Warwick Thumb bass kinda vibe too. Pope's preamp is so musical and doesn't overly color things or get too boomy or harsh in any of the frequencies. It allows to alter your tone how you want, but still sound tight, and clear. What strings do you use on yours? Mine is dovetail neck joint too! I love that cause it allows easy access to the highest notes, and gives you the added sustain of the neck through, but the punch of the bolt on design. Great review again man!

Thanks man for the positive vibes! I’m using DR pure blues strings on my Fodera. IMO they’re comfortable and well balanced. My low B is .125 gauge. Yeah I have to agree that Mike pope preamp is wonderful. It’s very logical and not wasteful at all - it is extremely versatile and robust for any situation!

New subscriber, love your videos! Do you feel the need for a traditional Fender J or P since you have the Fodera? Great tone!

Thanks for subscribing!! Haha great question! You won’t believe how much back and worth I went through to figure out that answer. The answer is YES you will always need both a Fender P and J bass in your collection. The reason being is that many will come close to the fender sound but never exact. You will especially need a P or J bass for older styles of music (70s 80s). The Fodera is too clean for those styles. It really boils down to what music you play, but in general a Fender J or P will always remain relevant and essential. Thanks!

@@amrsalahmahmoud3034 Amr, I prefer neck through for a nice low B sound and strong lows and highs. I prefer bolt-on for slapping style and quicker and sharper attack in sound. Those are my thoughts.

It’s actually “All the things you are”. It’s starts off the same way as Autumn Leaves (6 2 5 1), which makes it hard to distinguish sometimes without the melody being played lol.
